"Restricted" is hidden by the setting "Show project items"

I just spent quite a few days wondering why LSP stopped working in a project I use daily. I never had the time to investigate it, but found out through a Reddit post that there was a new feature "Restricted mode" introduced. I never noticed this because I have most visual elements disabled. The problem here is that if you have "Show project items" disabled, there is no visual indication that restricted mode is enabled. There is also no way of knowing that restricted mode hides behind this flag.

I don’t really think it makes sense to hide the restricted indicator at all when the consequences are so big. Or, if it should be possible to hide it, it needs to be very clear to me what I am doing.
