The code look ok (appear to do what's advertised), but I didn't understand what underlying problem is being solved by these changes? Helps if you can explain a bit if only so I can put a more meaningful message in the changelog. |

I think I needed this because when building zeek (bro) with the FreeBSD port, the user can change PREFIX (defaults to /usr/local), perhaps to install different versions at the same time. |
