I've finally got around to writing up the docs for this - sorry it took so long!
I'm not a regular docs writer (for anything), so I don't expect this is perfect just yet. I've more or less used the docs for the other adapters as a template, and expanded from there to suggest using the MongoDB polyfill and describe the lib_options and their default values. Obviously this hasn't been done for other adapters, so I'm prepared to remove it if that's too inconsistent
