Artist Class

Overview

The artist class is highly effective from behind cover and against crowds of enemies, focusing on lingering area-of-effect damage. It is held back by its fragility, limited range, and reliance on a limited resource. Projectiles created by artist class weapons add the player’s velocity to theirs, giving the impression that they’re applied directly onto the player’s screen itself (not accounting for things like binoculars). Damage dealt by the artist class's weapons is called "artistic damage".

Ink: Ink is a resource that most artistic weapons consume during use. When depleted, artistic weapons can’t be used again until it has been refilled. Ink does not naturally regenerate. The current supply is shown by a vertical bar behind the player. Its color matches the color of ink currently in use. All players start with 100 maximum ink. While the ink meter is not full, the player has a buff, "New Page". Right-clicking the buff to cancel it removes all artistic projectiles on screen and completely refills the ink meter.

Pails

Pails are artistic weapons based on tools used to fill in large areas. While held, droppers spawn a nondamaging projectile that follows the cursor at high speed. When used with left-click, this projectile starts moving extremely quickly in a random direction, bouncing off of obstacles, and leaving behind a damaging trail, consuming ink in the process. When used with right-click, the projectile treats lines drawn by pencils and pens as if they were solid blocks. Effectively, this means that pails fill in the boundaries of marked areas.
