Adafruit PiTFT

Adafruit stopped providing disk images for their LCDs. You can still find some old images on their web site. But it's not recommended to use them. The preferable way is to install a regular OS (e.g. Raspbian Stretch Lite) and using Adafruit script install LCD driver on top of it. The details can be found at Adafruit web site. After running that script the PiTFT touchscreen should be ready to use.

Another way to use Adafruit 3.5" LCD is to install Peppy Player disk image which has Adafruit LCD installed and configured. Fot that just go to the Disk Images page and download and install Adafruit disk image.
