CPU Feature Guide

Choose the highest feature level supported by your CPU:

  • Generic: Compatible with all x86_64 CPUs (baseline)
  • SSE4.2: Requires SSE4.2 support (Intel Nehalem 2008+, AMD Bulldozer 2011+)
  • AVX2: Requires AVX2 support (Intel Haswell 2013+, AMD Excavator 2015+)
  • ARM64: ARM64 processors with NEON optimizations

Installation

  1. Download the appropriate binary for your platform
  2. Verify the checksum (optional but recommended)
  3. Make executable (Linux/macOS): chmod +x pounce-*
  4. Run: ./pounce-* or integrate with your UCI-compatible chess GUI
