ENGLEASY 5.3 — summarized patch notes

  • Conversation practice: “Review the dialogue” now appears only for questions based on the dialogue. Those questions still require opening the dialogue before recording. Other conversation questions do not show the control and do not require opening the dialogue.

ENGLEASY 5.2 — summarized patch notes

  • Welcome back: The sign-in password label now reads “Password.”

  • Avatars: Avatar waving happens on selection instead of continuously. The profile avatar waves for two seconds when Profile opens and can be pressed to wave and say hello again.

  • Conversation: The dialogue-review control sits closer to Listen again, with approximately 0.3 cm spacing in CSS reference units.

  • Profile: Opening Profile, changing or randomizing an avatar, and completing or cancelling a password change return to the top of Profile.

  • Volume: The in-app effects volume defaults to its maximum when no value has been saved. An existing user-selected value is retained; the phone's own volume and sound settings remain under the user's control.

  • Practice reminders: Settings now offers ENGLEASY reminder, Level up, and phone-default notification sounds, with previews for the two app sounds. Android manages each notification channel and may override or mute its sound.

  • Placement: The arrow graphic is centered in its red button; its scroll and hide behavior is retained.

ENGLEASY 5.1 — summarized patch notes

  • Welcome back: The returning-student sign-in label now reads “Account ID.” The new-student label remains “Create account ID.”

  • Placement arrow: The animated arrow is centered above the bottom navigation and disappears when the placement start button is reached. It reappears if the student scrolls back above that button.

  • Bottom bar: Streak is first and Profile is second.

  • Avatars: Avatar choices and the profile picture have a waving-hand overlay. Selecting or randomizing an avatar says “Hello!” using a male or female voice role matched to the supplied character. The app's voice setting and available device voices apply.

  • Conversation: Review the dialogue sits in the question content above Listen again, separated by approximately 38 CSS pixels, with a red button and white text. It remains in place while scrolling and retains the requirement to open the dialogue before recording.

  • Notifications: The ENGLEASY-specific notification sound supplied previously remains configured on the existing notification channel. Android notification and sound settings can override or silence it.

ENGLEASY 5.0 — summarized patch notes

  • Welcome and tests: Removed the small Welcome control above the returning-student heading. A glowing downward arrow on the placement introduction scrolls to its start button. Placement start/continue and evaluation start controls have click feedback and vibration.

  • Profile: The bottom bar now begins with Profile and Streak. Profile keeps the existing progress information and adds the student's name, avatar, avatar picker, and Account settings for changing a password. Account settings was moved out of Settings.

  • Registration: The ID label is now “Create account ID.” Students must repeat their password, and each password field has a show/hide control.

  • Avatars: The 12 supplied pictures are available in a circular selector. New students choose or randomize an avatar before choosing a starting path; existing students can change it from Profile. Selected avatars are saved with the local profile, and the choice glows before confirmation.

  • Conversation: Review the dialogue opens a dialogue window, with sound and a longer vibration. Recording is locked until the window is opened. Listen again remains, and the separate Stop voice button is removed.

  • Welcome audio: The path greeting remains queued to play as soon as the path-entry sound finishes; the launch greeting begins when the app and device speech engine are ready.

ENGLEASY 4.8 — summarized patch notes

  • Switch student: Replaced the reverse-arrow character with a single, visible black arrow icon inside the existing animated tile.

  • Path welcome: The supplied level-up sound plays when entering the progress path from sign-in, before the welcome voice. It follows the app's sound setting; the voice follows the voice setting.

  • Dialogue: Removed the dialogue-review control and transcript disclosure from dialogue practice. Dialogue listening and its existing requirement to hear the recording remain in place, including in tests.

  • Reading: Opening a story once unlocks questions on that story for the current activity or test. The story can still be opened again, and another story is opened separately. Existing saved story-open states are honored where they can be matched.

ENGLEASY 4.7 — summarized patch notes

  • Writing reports: Added checks for several common subject–verb and perfect-tense errors, alongside the existing spelling checks. The report continues to show highlighted suggestions, explanations, and the writing percentage. These offline rules cannot catch every error and suggestions can still be wrong; review them in context.

  • Speaking: Story-discussion questions in speaking practice are replaced with a topic-related line to listen to and repeat. Story questions in conversation practice likewise become a repeat-the-line prompt. Previously answered questions in saved sessions remain unchanged. The app checks recognized words; it does not measure pronunciation acoustically.

  • Returning students: The Switch student button is bright red with white text.

ENGLEASY 4.6 — summarized patch notes

  • Returning students: After signing in successfully on this device, choose “Continue my journey as” your name or “Switch student.” A changed password invalidates the remembered shortcut. The first sign-in after updating may be needed because older versions did not record the last authenticated student.

  • Writing: The correction report now shows the writing percentage and passing threshold. Several ambiguous correction rules have been removed or narrowed to avoid changing valid sentences. The offline checker still catches only some writing issues; its suggestions and percentage are not a complete or guaranteed-accurate assessment of spelling, grammar, punctuation, or meaning.

  • Speaking: Dialogue-summary prompts in speaking practice have been replaced with a line from the topic dialogue to repeat. Existing answered questions in saved sessions are preserved; unanswered dialogue-summary prompts are converted. The device speech recognizer compares recognized words and does not measure pronunciation acoustically.

  • Context controls: The opened check mark appears alongside the Review the story, conversation, or dialogue label, with the instruction below it.

  • Practice again: Completed activities remain replayable, including completed conversation practices, without awarding completion XP twice or erasing the original progress record.

  • Review before continuing: Missed answers in path activities receive one required review round. Answers still wrong remain in Review and contribute to the Review button’s count. Placement and evaluation tests retain their test behavior without a later review round.

ENGLEASY 4.5 — summarized patch notes

Version 4.5 · Build 37

  • Header and logo: The student name and XP are centered again. The header logo sits slightly higher. Its periodic revolution now takes about two seconds.

  • Writing scores: The app calculates a percentage from the detected language corrections relative to the number of words. A single detected error no longer automatically fails an otherwise adequate response. Passing scores are 65% for A1/A2, 75% for B1/B2, and 85% for C1/C2. The highlighted correction report and guidance remain available in writing practice and evaluations.

  • Microphone and retries: Voice capture accepts clear final results from services that omit confidence scores when there is speech-start or sustained sound evidence. It also accepts sustained sound plus final recognized words when the provider omits the speech-start callback. Submission still happens on release. Silent, unclear, low-confidence, and interrupted captures do not use a trial. Two retries remain after the first clear wrong answer. Missed speaking and Conversation answers can be reviewed later from the learning path.

  • Tests: Placement and evaluation scores and pass/fail feedback remain. The later answer-review panels have been removed from those test results; writing correction guidance still appears for submitted evaluation writing. The existing placement test consists of multiple-choice questions and has no writing or microphone questions.

  • Adam: His applause animation now uses the existing speech timing to animate the mouth during “You've done a great work!”

  • Practice reminders: The daily notification title is now “Let's practice English”; the existing “Did you practice today? Join ENGLEASY now and let's practice English together!” message remains. Notifications use the supplied MP3 as their channel sound.

  • Results and reading: Completed activity and test screens scroll to their score or percentage. The story-opening instruction now sits inside the Review the story button and changes when the story has been opened.

ENGLEASY 4.3

Build 35 · 26 October 2026

  • Separate floating Review the story and Save & leave controls, with space between them.

  • Small red 72 × 72 px Save & leave square at the top left below the header, with a white circle/red X icon.

  • Unclear-audio bracket above the microphone; lighter 120 ms hold activation and more sensitive software speech detection.

  • More forgiving recognized-word checks at A1, A2 and B1 while preserving required words, negatives and numbers. Silence and unclear audio still cost no trial. Two retries and the one-second/three-second silence rules remain.

  • Centered student name/XP badge in its own header row, clear of the logo and artwork.

  • Occasional gentle slide hint for the bottom bar and a brief glow when its buttons are pressed. Hints pause during focused activities/tests and respect reduced-motion preferences.

  • Placement passing grades: A1 70%, A2 75%, B1 80%, B2 85%, C1 90%, C2 90%. Six stages retain 100 questions and 30 minutes each: 180 minutes total.

ENGLEASY 4.2

Build 34 · 26 October 2026 · Visible app name: ENGLEASY

  • Cleaner spacing: increased control gaps to approximately 0.5 cm in CSS reference units (20 px), wrapped crowded rows, and kept button feedback and nearby descriptions clear of touch targets. Actual physical size varies by phone scaling.

  • Login layout: removed the blank strip at the top of the header; brought the welcome text, statistics, login options, social links and contact area closer together. Creator and page controls sit to the right, about 1 cm below the home welcome line, with subtle red edge glows. The supplied picture is now the App creator icon. New student and contact-phone icons animate.

  • Navigation and path: added animated icons matched to each navigation button and all ten topic skills; refreshed skill-tree cards; changed level test-out buttons to purple. The header logo is centered vertically in its row. Reduced-motion preferences are respected.

  • Placement timing: six stages of 100 questions now allow 30 minutes each, up to 180 minutes altogether. Passing rules, skip, early finish, stage pauses and focus mode remain. An active older stage gains the extra ten minutes once, preserving elapsed time and submitted answers. Evaluations remain at 20 minutes.

  • Test answer feedback: placement and evaluation answers scroll directly to a visible Correct / Not quite message. The original reading passage is removed after submission; reading narration remains available in normal path practice.

  • Hold to record: speaking controls are large square microphone buttons with “Long press to record” underneath. Hold for 350 ms to start; release or slide away to stop and send the recognized answer for checking. Keyboard users can hold Space or Enter. Finish speaking, Cancel and manual capture-confirm buttons are removed from the visible flow.

  • Speaking retries: an incorrect clear recording permits two retries after the first attempt. Silent or unclear audio still costs no trial and shows “I can't hear you clearly”. The correct-answer one-second silence cutoff and other-answer three-second pause allowance remain.

  • Writing review: added common spelling, grammar and punctuation corrections, highlighted original/corrected text, explanations, and guidance on main ideas, reasons, examples and organization. Argument tasks also receive structure guidance. The review stays open until Exit review is pressed. Students can practise and recheck a revision without changing their locked submitted score. A timed evaluation's overall clock still runs.

  • Voice playback: automatic selection now prefers the highest-quality available matching male/female voice and normal pitch and pace. Previewed manual voice choices remain available; an opposite-gender voice is never used as a fallback. Enhanced online voices need connectivity. Human-like sound depends on the voices supplied by the phone's speech engine; new studio recordings are not bundled.

  • Reading controls: Review the story and Save & leave now share one sticky row with reserved space and a 20 px gap, so they follow the page together without overlapping.

  • New-student choices: Find your level and A fresh start have appropriate animated icons; Find your level has an attention glow.
