AlgoCompass v1.3.1
Fixes a startup crash in v1.3.0. If v1.3.0 failed to open, install this version: it repairs your database automatically and keeps all your data.
What's new in v1.3
Learn screen
- 147 verified video lessons (English and Hindi), grouped by topic. Every video is checked against YouTube.
- Continue learning: resume your current lesson or last video in one click.
- Your weakest topics come first.
Beginner mode
- First launch asks "New to DSA?". Codeforces and LeetCode handles are optional for beginners.
- The 14-step Beginner Path, from loops and complexity to dynamic programming. Each step is watch → read → solve.
- Start here on Today opens your next lesson directly.
- Contests unlocks after step 9 (Recursion).
Sheets
- Striver A2Z, Striver SDE, NeetCode 150, Blind 75, Love Babbar 450, each built from its creator's original list and credited to them.
- Problems you solve on LeetCode or Codeforces tick themselves, in every sheet that lists them.
- Bulk Mark sections done to catch up, and private notes per problem.
Install
- Download AlgoCompass_1.3.1_x64-setup.exe below.
- On the Windows SmartScreen warning, click More info, then Run anyway (the app isn't code-signed).
- Updating from an older version keeps your data.
Windows 10/11 (64-bit) only.
AlgoCompass v1.2.0
AlgoCompass is simpler: four screens with plain names, and clean Light and Dark themes.
Four screens instead of seven
- Today (Ctrl+1): today's quests, your streak and today's mix at the top, then your rating, what to work on next and your activity.
- Practice (Ctrl+2): today's mix, upsolves and problems by topic.
- Progress (Ctrl+3): Overview (rating chart, level, weekly goals and review), Topics map, and Achievements, as tabs.
- Contests (Ctrl+4): upcoming rounds, reminders and past results.
Old links (Skill Tree, Quests, Achievements) take you to their new home. The sidebar shows labels, with a one-line description on hover, and each screen has a subtitle. A short 4-step tour shows you around once. The tray menu has links to each screen.
Light, Dark, System
Neon Arcade, Ember and Ocean are replaced by Light, Dark and System (the default, which follows Windows and switches with it). Every text and rank colour meets WCAG AA contrast in both themes. If you used one of the old themes, you're moved to System, and nothing else changes.
Topics map
- The minimap no longer covers nodes. It's bottom-right, and hidden on narrow windows.
- The "Work on next" marker is now a clear accent target instead of a black ⊗.
- Tile reasons wrap to two lines.
XP, levels, achievements and the Aura Shift are unchanged.
Install: download AlgoCompass_1.2.0_x64-setup.exe (or the .msi). It installs over 1.1 and keeps your data.
AlgoCompass v1.1.0
AlgoCompass 1.1.0 is a full visual redesign: vibrant themes, and a bento layout on every screen.
What's new
Three themes
- Neon Arcade (electric violet and cyan, the default), Ember (orange and gold on charcoal) and Ocean (teal and bright blue on navy). Pick one in Settings → Theme. It applies instantly and is remembered.
- Every theme is contrast-checked for readability (body text at least 4.5:1).
- Your Codeforces rank colour now marks only your rank: the rating number, the rank chip and progress to the next rank. The app is no longer all Newbie gray.
A bento layout everywhere
- Home Base: a rating hero (your rating, a sparkline, rank progress, the next round), then the two things to do today side by side: Work on next and Today (your streak and quests). Below are activity, LeetCode, later contests and where you stand.
- Skill Tree: your three Work on next topics are tiles with their reasons, and the tree is the hero card, with filters and search in its header.
- Topic Detail: strength, its sources and stats grouped into tiles; Upsolve, Solved, Recommended and Resources as cards.
- Practice: Today's mix leads, with Upsolve and By topic side by side.
- Quests: today's quests beside your level, then the week's goals beside the weekly review.
- Contests: the next round leads, upcoming rounds sit beside your history, and the full rating chart is now here.
- Achievements: your level, then one card per category.
Every card shares one header style: a bigger title, a short description, and a count pill.
Install
- Download
AlgoCompass_1.1.0_x64-setup.exebelow (or the.msi). - Run it. AlgoCompass isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn: choose More info → Run anyway.
- Upgrading from 1.0.0? Your handles, history and settings are kept.
- New install? Enter your Codeforces handle (and LeetCode username if you want) on the welcome screen. The first sync takes about a minute.
Requires Windows 10 or 11.
AlgoCompass v1.0.0
The first public release of AlgoCompass: one Windows desktop app for Codeforces and LeetCode that finds your weak topics, tells you what to solve next, and keeps you consistent.
Highlights
- Home Base: your rating and progress to the next rank, streak, today's quests, the topic to work on next, and the next Codeforces round, all in one screen.
- Skill Tree: 33 topics on a prerequisite graph with 0–100 mastery rings scored from your own solves (difficulty-weighted, 90-day half-life).
- Topic Detail: strength breakdown, solved and open problems, LeetCode problems to learn and Codeforces problems to sharpen, curated resources.
- Practice: Mix of the Day (3 Codeforces + 2 LeetCode), Upsolve, and problems for every weak topic, with Skip / Too easy / Too hard feedback.
- Quests: three daily quests from your mix that check themselves off after a sync, weekly goals, XP and levels, and a Sunday weekly review.
- Contests: upcoming Codeforces rounds (with LeetCode below) with countdowns and "I'll attend" reminders, plus past results; unsolved problems go to Upsolve.
- Achievements: a level and title from your whole history and 31 achievements, with a short "Aura Shift" moment when you're promoted.
- Desktop: tray menu, launch on startup, Windows notifications (contest reminders, streak at risk, quest complete), Ctrl+K command palette, offline cache.
Install
- Download AlgoCompass_1.0.0_x64-setup.exe below (or the
.msi). - Run it. The app isn't code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen will warn: click More info → Run anyway.
- Enter your Codeforces handle (and optionally your LeetCode username) on the welcome screen. The first sync takes about a minute.
Requires Windows 10 or 11 with WebView2 (already on Windows 11; the installer fetches it on Windows 10 if needed).
All data stays on your computer (%APPDATA%\com.algocompass.app). The app only reads your public profiles from codeforces.com/api and LeetCode's GraphQL endpoint.
