Todorbit v1.0.18 — Widget startup and appearance fixes
Todorbit v1.0.18 - widget startup and appearance fixes
Windows x64 public pre-release, version 1.0.18+19.
- Enabled Tasks and Calendar widgets return when Todorbit opens, including after an update or Exit widgets. Explicitly disabled widgets stay disabled. Windows sign-in still starts the companion without opening the full app.
- Close Widget is now temporary. Widget positions, sizes, presets, navigation, opacity and startup preferences are retained.
- Selected navigation text uses one predictable contrast rule throughout opacity adjustment. Explicit text-color overrides and text opacity are preserved.
- Planned tasks in the Calendar date grid use a subtle inset circle instead of a square touching the cell border. Event counts, session markers and date selection are unchanged.
No database/schema change. Existing local data, backups and optional Google Drive settings are preserved. A disabled preference saved by an older Close Widget action cannot be distinguished from an intentional disable; enable that widget once in Settings if needed.
Packages are unsigned. Physical display-scaling/input, Windows sign-in and registered installer execution require target-system acceptance; automated checks do not establish them. Stable update channel excludes this pre-release; choose Pre-release to receive it.
Todorbit v1.0.17 - Widget settings and navigation
Todorbit 1.0.17 — Windows x64 pre-release
Version 1.0.17+18 adds persistent widget customization, optional task reminders
and direct navigation to existing editors. Windows 11 is the primary test platform;
Windows 10 compatibility remains limited. Packages are unsigned.
Widgets and settings
- Drag Tasks navigation destinations into any order or use the Up/Down controls.
Hidden items retain their positions across top/bottom/side layouts and restarts. - Choose five built-in presets for each widget. Save, rename, duplicate and delete
custom presets independently. Preset previews use the existing Apply/Cancel flow. - Undo/Redo settings with Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y in widget, theme,
task-display and sidebar contexts. Slider drags count as one change; focused
text fields retain text Undo/Redo. - Independently customize task-row, hover and selected-navigation backgrounds,
foregrounds and opacity. Overall shell opacity does not multiply text/row alpha. - Drag the Calendar divider or adjust Calendar share to allocate space to its
date grid and scrolling agenda. Saved proportions respect usable minimum sizes. - Event indicators show no mark for zero events, one to three dots, or one line
for four or more. Cancelled/duplicate occurrences do not inflate counts;
task/session markers remain separate.
Tasks and navigation
- Task notifications are Off by default. Explicitly select a custom date/time
or an offset from the next upcoming work session. Planned days and deadlines
have no clock time and remain separate. Recurring settings apply to the selected
task occurrence; future tasks are not silently enabled. - The existing companion timer, privacy behavior and duplicate-delivery ledger
support reminders while the main window is closed. Delivery requires the
companion and Windows notification availability; missed reminders beyond the
existing five-minute window are not replayed. - Widget rows open the selected task, event occurrence or session directly in
Todorbit. The old intermediate Scheduled item popup is removed. Checkboxes
still complete tasks directly. Activation reuses the existing main instance,
defers during active editing/modal sessions and reports missing targets. - Audit fixes let ordinary edits preserve an unchanged past reminder, protect
drafts opened during asynchronous navigation, and separate compact indicators.
Upgrade and backup safety
Create a verified backup before upgrading from v1.0.16. Database schema 22
adds per-task reminder configuration and delivery claims. The existing approval
and verified Before upgrade backup gate applies; an older executable cannot open
the migrated database. Binary rollback does not reverse database migration.
Widget appearance, navigation order, split proportions and custom presets now
travel through settings export/import, local SQLite snapshots and encrypted Drive
snapshots. Visibility, geometry, startup and layout lock remain device-local.
Existing profile paths and installer identity are unchanged. Portable updates
must retain the exact application path to retain their location-derived profile.
Google Drive remains experimental, using the established packaged Desktop
configuration; source defaults remain disabled. Branding/policy limitations are
unresolved. This is snapshot backup/restore, not synchronization.
Verification and limits
Final exact-source CI, artifact/hash, backup/migration and v1.0.16 updater results
are recorded in the publication receipt linked from repository Progress. Automated
widget/layout/recurrence tests, native self-tests and isolated runtime checks do
not establish physical DPI/monitor behavior, Explorer restart/Win+D, screen-reader
acceptance, actual OS notification receipt or registered installer execution.
Choose Pre-release in Settings > Software Updates to receive this update.
Stable excludes pre-releases. Compare downloads with the published SHA-256 files;
checksums establish integrity and are not a publisher signature.
Todorbit v1.0.16 - Calendar Refinements and Optional Support (Windows x64 Pre-release)
Todorbit 1.0.16 — Calendar refinements and optional support
Windows x64 pre-release. Requires Windows 10 or Windows 11.
- One Calendar widget: rounded date cells, clear today/selection states and a
dedicated selected-day agenda. Old presentation settings load compatibly. - All selected-day tasks/events remain in one scrollable agenda. Paging arrows
are removed; extra height expands the agenda instead of stretching date cells. - Nearby Tasks/Calendar widget edges snap during resizing and dragging. Exact
same-DPI bounds persist; Lock Layout and independent widget settings remain. - Subtle scroll-edge fades improve Settings, theme and widget customization.
- Cleaner widget menus retain the normal task-entry bar and shortcuts.
- Optional Support Todorbit popup opens the maintainer's PayPal.Me page:
https://paypal.me/2hussam4. A brief one-time header highlight respects
reduced motion. Todorbit remains free; no payment data is collected in-app. - UI UX Pro Max-assisted polish improves select focus and custom-accent/error
contrast while preserving Todorbit's lavender identity and customization.
The support destination is fixed in official source, never imported from themes
or settings. Forks can modify source; official packages come from 2HIK4/Todorbit.
Packages are unsigned. Verify the published SHA-256 values before manual install.
The experimental Google Drive backup configuration is retained from v1.0.15;
existing experimental and unsigned-release limitations still apply.
Physical mouse input, snapping feel, DPI/multiple monitors, Win+D, Explorer
restart, screen readers and registered installer execution remain unverified.
Please test those on your Windows PC; automated tests are not physical acceptance.
To upgrade, open Settings > Software Updates, choose Pre-release, then
Check for Updates, Download update, and Update and Restart. Create a
verified backup first. Portable users should retain the same application path.
Todorbit v1.0.15 - Widget Redesign (Windows x64 Pre-release)
Todorbit v1.0.15 - Widget redesign (Windows x64 pre-release)
This pre-release delivers the completed desktop widget redesign for real-user
testing. Enable widgets in Settings > Widget and choose Configure, or right-click
a widget and choose Edit This Widget.
What's new
- Two Calendar presentations: Compact Calendar + Agenda and Full Month Grid.
Responsive day cells show scheduled item titles and overflow counts when space
permits. Select a day to inspect its complete agenda; native item details do
not require opening the main application. Existing week-start/content filters
and the distinction between planned tasks, sessions and events are retained. - Live customization on the actual widgets: colors, opacity, borders,
typography, navigation and calendar presentation preview while editing.
Continuous slider movement updates before release without saving every change. - Safer editing: Apply saves and keeps the editor open. Cancel restores the
latest saved baseline. Close/Escape offers Save Changes, Discard Changes or
Continue Editing. Confirmed Apply to All copies compatible appearance while
retaining independent widget settings. Timeout recovery and native menu edits
preserve the saved configuration; unsaved previews are not persisted. - Polished desktop interaction: easier background/header dragging, protected
controls and layout lock, visible checked menu settings, responsive Tasks
navigation, larger completion hit regions and themed delayed rounded tooltips.
Optional text shadows replace opaque backgrounds behind ordinary labels. - Application UI improvements: clearer settings sections and secondary help,
scrollable color/prompt/preferences/notification/privacy/backup interfaces,
improved narrow-window layouts and keyboard traversal past disabled choices.
Upgrade and compatibility
From v1.0.14, open Settings > Software Updates, select Pre-release, then
Check for updates. Review the release and use Download/Install. Stable excludes
this pre-release; your update channel is not changed automatically.
SQLite remains at schema v21. Tasks, events, schedules, themes, profile paths,
installer identity and backup formats are unchanged. Existing widget appearance,
visibility, positions and startup preferences are preserved. Older Calendar
settings default to Compact Calendar + Agenda; choose Full Month Grid explicitly.
No task is automatically completed or rescheduled.
Keep a verified local backup. Per-widget customization remains device-local and
excluded from shareable/cloud settings backups. Installer users should upgrade
the existing installation; portable users must retain their exact existing
extraction path to retain the location-derived profile. Keep the entire bundle
together and close Todorbit and its companion before manual replacement.
Google Drive backup remains enabled and experimental, using the same Desktop
OAuth configuration as the previous published packages. No credentials JSON or
new Cloud setup is required. Google verification/account-policy limitations
remain unchanged; this release does not claim Google approval.
Verification and testing limits
Existing verification includes 327 passing tests, clean analysis, Windows/native
builds, 11 final editor regressions, the separately passing packaged first-launch
test, native self-tests and isolated two-window/live-preview checks. Release CI,
package digests and public updater checks are recorded in the publication report.
Real-user physical Windows acceptance is pending. Physical dragging/input
focus, display scaling/DPI, multi-monitor, Win+D, Explorer restart and screen-reader
checks have not been declared passed. Offscreen renders and Flutter automation
do not establish those results. Windows 10 and registered installer execution
also require real-user acceptance.
Both packages are unsigned. SHA-256 verifies integrity, not publisher identity;
Windows may display a publisher/SmartScreen warning. Apply to All uses atomic
individual files with rollback on a save failure, not a crash-atomic transaction
across both files. Calendar event details remain read-only in the widget.
Todorbit v1.0.14 — Widget Customization & Calendar Widget (Pre-release)
Todorbit v1.0.14 — Windows x64 pre-release
This update adds an independent Calendar Widget and detailed customization for
both desktop widgets. Google Drive backup remains enabled and experimental
in both Windows packages, using the same Desktop OAuth configuration as v1.0.13.
Connect through your system browser in Settings > Backups & Cloud; no credentials
JSON or Google Cloud setup is required from users.
Changes
- Independent Calendar Widget: monthly grid, month/year navigation, Today,
date indicators and a compact selected-date agenda. Planned tasks, sessions and
fixed events remain distinct. Existing week-start and calendar filters apply. - Advanced per-widget customization: separate shell, header, content,
navigation, quick-add, calendar cell, agenda and date-indicator appearance.
Control background colors/transparency and border visibility, color, opacity,
thickness and corner radius without fading all content together. - Header and task navigation: show/hide title and Open App independently;
hide individual task views; place navigation at top/left/right/bottom; choose
text, icons or both. Hidden controls remain reachable through the context menu. - Settings > Widget: separate Tasks and Calendar entries, draft previews,
Apply, confirmed Apply to All Widgets, Cancel and reset. Shared Apply preserves
each widget's visibility, geometry, layout and widget-specific controls.
Right-click Edit This Widget opens the correct editor, protecting dirty drafts. - Typography and icons: consistent vector Open App/navigation icons, explicit
native font sizing, text scaling and optional contrast backplates for transparent
surfaces. Native text input stays opaque while focused. - Software Updates: human-readable IEC download sizes and selectable, complete
Markdown release notes in collapsed Details, without the escaped/truncated summary. - Backups & Cloud: shorter sections and expandable explanations, preserving
passphrase warnings and destructive restore confirmation. - Cancelled calendar events: stronger readability while retaining cancelled
status and strikethrough. - First widget launch and settings reload no longer wait on the persistent
companion process. Both widgets share one companion, IPC and startup entry.
Upgrade and data compatibility
From v1.0.13, choose Pre-release in Settings > Software Updates and check for
updates. The Stable channel excludes this release. Your channel is not changed
automatically. The existing verified download, close/install/restart flow remains.
SQLite stays at schema v21. Existing databases, profile paths, themes, backups,
installer identity and task widget startup choices are retained. Legacy task
opacity/layout settings migrate deterministically; task geometry/view remain in
their existing file. Calendar starts disabled and can be enabled independently.
There is no automatic task completion or rescheduling.
Per-widget customization is stored in separate active-profile JSON files and
survives ordinary updates. It remains device-local and is not included in cloud
or shareable-settings snapshots; shared theme colors remain portable. Keep a
verified local backup. Portable updates must retain the exact existing folder
location to preserve the location-derived profile.
Validation and known limitations
Implementation verification includes 303 passing automated tests, clean
analysis, Windows/native builds, packaged native self-test, isolated two-widget
lifecycle checks and a separately passing real-companion first-launch test.
Final release packaging, CI, artifact integrity and public updater checks are
recorded in the publication report. Offscreen renders are not physical GUI tests.
Physical Windows DPI/scaling, Win + D, screen-reader behavior and manual native
interaction/input-focus checks remain unverified. No pass is claimed for them.
The owner will test the UI after upgrading; Sandbox/VM testing is not required.
Registered installer upgrade/uninstall and clean-machine SmartScreen behavior
also remain unverified. Both packages are unsigned; SHA-256 checks integrity,
not publisher identity. Windows 10 acceptance remains limited.
Calendar event rows are read-only in the widget; task/session entries can open
their task in Todorbit. New per-widget preferences are local to the device.
Google branding verification and full public OAuth policy compliance remain
unresolved. This release does not claim Google approval, universal account
eligibility or long-term grant reliability. Workspace/account restrictions,
quotas or revocation may prevent access. This is encrypted backup/restore,
not live synchronization. Lost passphrases cannot be recovered; full cloud
backups have a 50 MiB database limit and exclude linked external file contents.
Local SQLite/recovery files are not encrypted by Todorbit.
Download the installer or extract the complete portable ZIP. Compare the package
with its .sha256 sidecar or Todorbit-1.0.14-SHA256SUMS.txt before running.
Todorbit v1.0.13 — Windows x64 pre-release
Todorbit v1.0.13 — Windows x64 pre-release
Google Drive backup is enabled and experimental in both Windows packages.
Connect through your system browser in Settings > Backups & Cloud. You do not
need a credentials JSON file, your own OAuth client or Google Cloud setup.
Google branding verification and full public OAuth policy compliance remain
unresolved. This release does not claim Google approval or compatibility with
every account. Google or Workspace policies, quotas, revocation and changes to
third-party access may prevent connection or continued use. Respect any Google
restriction; keep a verified local backup independently of cloud access.
Changes
- Bundles the tested Desktop OAuth configuration, using only
drive.appdata
for Todorbit's hidden application-data folder. Release builds have no
developer credentials-import control. - Supports encrypted full-database and settings-only cloud snapshots, upload
readback verification, explicit restore review, Before Restore snapshots
and selective settings recovery. This is backup/restore, not live sync. - Fixes interrupted database initialization: schema creation/upgrades and the
version marker commit atomically. Only empty, compatible unfinished schemas
can recover automatically; populated or incompatible files are preserved. - Correctly validates user tables with SQLite-like names during recovery and
rejects malformed v20/v21 backups missing the required reminder table. - Handles initialization/controller-load errors within the startup screen.
Schema v21, existing profile paths, installation identity, settings, backups
and update-channel preferences are retained. Nothing silently completes or
reschedules planner tasks. A schema upgrade still requires approval and a
verified Before upgrade backup.
Downloads and updates
Use the Windows x64 installer or extract the entire portable ZIP. Both are
unsigned. Compare the package with its .sha256 sidecar or the included
Todorbit-1.0.13-SHA256SUMS.txt before running it; a checksum is not a publisher
signature. Keep portable updates at the same location to retain that profile.
From v1.0.12, select the Pre-release update channel and check for updates.
The Stable channel excludes this pre-release. This release does not change
your selected channel automatically.
Validation and known limitations
Reuses final app source 8d667df: 287 passing Flutter tests, clean analysis,
successful Windows CI,
enabled package checks, real Google encrypted backup/recovery and isolated
portable update/rollback. The published installer/ZIP are the exact enabled
packages from that engineering acceptance, rather than the disabled-config
CI artifacts. Only release artifact checks and public discovery/download
verification are added; the completed suite is not repeated.
Clean Windows-user/VM testing was explicitly skipped. Registered installer
upgrade/uninstall, physical backup/update dialogs, keyboard/DPI behavior and
SmartScreen trust remain unverified. Windows 11 is the main test platform;
Windows 10 acceptance is limited. Real multi-day grants, account switching,
quota exhaustion and interrupted Google transfers remain unmeasured beyond
the documented mocked cases.
Full cloud backups have a 50 MiB database limit. Linked external file contents
are excluded; no automatic cloud retention is applied. Lost backup passphrases
cannot be recovered. Local SQLite and recovery files are not encrypted by
Todorbit. Android/OneDrive sign-in and synchronization are not implemented.
Todorbit v1.0.12 — Windows x64 pre-release
Todorbit v1.0.12 ? Windows x64 pre-release
- Improved shared form spacing and expansion sections so floating labels and the Task editor's optional-status subtitle stay readable.
- Aligned New/Edit checklist inputs and add actions; separated PIN fields and made Work Session actions wrap in narrow forms.
- Stabilized privacy restart test fixtures and completed a clean 245-test Flutter run without retries or relaxed timeouts.
The Windows installer and portable ZIP are unsigned. Compare downloads with SHA256SUMS.txt. Use the Pre-release update channel to detect this version; Stable ignores pre-releases.
Data paths, SQLite schema, installer identity, and update behavior are unchanged. Physical window resizing/DPI, Release GUI pixels, native widget interactions, Windows sign-in, registered installer upgrade/uninstall, and the exact in-app Update and Restart handoff still need manual acceptance. Do not infer those checks from automated tests or debug screenshots.
Todorbit v1.0.11 — Windows x64 pre-release
Todorbit v1.0.11 — Windows x64 pre-release
This patch release protects the update handoff from an app launch that races with installation. New app launches during replacement exit promptly so they do not hold installation files open; the updater restarts Todorbit after installation. The helper detects a process already using the same installation before closing the current app and reports its PID. It still waits for the native widget to exit and refuses to replace locked files.
The README Today screenshot has been replaced with the supplied clean image.
Automated analysis and all 243 Flutter tests passed. The Windows Release bundle, native widget self-test, installer, portable ZIP, and disposable portable helper swap passed. The disposable update closed a running widget, restarted Todorbit at the same path, and kept a seeded task, valid SQLite database, widget startup preference, and sentinel file. A forced post-handoff version mismatch also rolled back and reopened the previous app with the same profile. A registered installer upgrade and the exact in-app button flow remain unverified on a disposable Windows account; the personal installation and profile were not changed.
The v1.0.9 updater in an existing installation does not contain this repair. If Update and Restart reports another Todorbit process, close other windows and retry once. If it persists, run the verified v1.0.11 installer manually in the same Windows account and installation path. Keep %APPDATA%\TodoPilot and any legacy profile data in place; do not uninstall first.
These packages are unsigned. Use SHA256SUMS.txt to verify downloads; a matching digest does not establish publisher identity.
Todorbit v1.0.10 — Windows x64 pre-release
Todorbit v1.0.10 — Windows x64 pre-release
This unsigned patch release corrects the order of controls in Settings > Software Updates.
The update action and collapsed Markdown Details now follow the existing automatic-check preference, Update Channel, and Check for Updates button. Download progress and update behavior are unchanged.
Automated analysis, Flutter tests, Windows Release builds, the packaged widget self-test, and package integrity checks passed. The Software Updates screen was inspected in an isolated debug profile. A registered installer upgrade and the in-app Update and Restart handoff remain unverified on an isolated Windows account. The installed app and personal profile were not changed.
Use SHA256SUMS.txt to check downloaded files. These packages are unsigned; a matching digest does not establish publisher identity.
Todorbit v1.0.9 — Windows x64 pre-release
Todorbit v1.0.9 — Windows x64 pre-release
This unsigned pre-release improves selection menus, view guidance, and widget startup.
Changes
- Form selection menus open below their fields when space allows, stay within the visible app area, and show a consistent selected-item mark. Software Updates gives Update Channel a separate label; Backup & Restore aligns space above its action buttons.
- Habits, Goals, Calendar, and Reports explain their purpose through the same About this view control used by task views.
- The Windows widget launches at sign-in by default after Todorbit's first launch. Settings > Widget can turn this off. An explicit off choice stays off; startup registration is repaired when the Release app opens after a path change or update.
- The update helper verifies package SHA-256 without relying on the PowerShell Get-FileHash cmdlet, which failed in the previous Windows CI preflight test.
Updating an installed v1.0.8 copy
Open Settings > Software Updates, select Pre-release, then Check for Updates. Confirm the version and release notes, download the installer, and use Update and Restart. Check that Todorbit reopens as v1.0.9 with your tasks, events, and settings. Keep the installed copy and profile in place; do not uninstall or delete %APPDATA%\TodoPilot. If the in-app update fails, retain the existing installation and use the verified v1.0.9 installer manually.
The portable ZIP is for portable copies. Moving a portable folder selects a different location-based profile; replace files at the same path to retain that profile.
Verification and limits
Automated analysis, Flutter tests, native widget self-test, Windows Release build, package integrity, and an isolated debug GUI dropdown interaction were run. A registered v1.0.8 installer upgrade, Windows login, physical DPI behavior, and the actual in-app Update and Restart handoff on an installed copy require separate acceptance. The user's installed app and personal profile were not changed.
The packages are unsigned. Compare downloads with SHA256SUMS.txt; a matching hash checks integrity but is not a publisher signature.
