This part is used to print a tower, printed with a different flow percentage setting for each floor. To help you to change these flow a postprocessing script is provided in this Plugin to easily define this tower.

Note : As a hight percentage of Flow can produce a friction between the nozzle and the part, it is recommended to use the option Z Hop When Retracted to avoid the risks of detachment of the parts during the printing of the tower.

Results

The goal is to choose the right flow percentage.

Print the test part. After printing remove every component one by one, remove the support test and try to plug the pin into every cube made at the same Flow percentage. Those that can be plug together will show you that flow is the right one.

The ability to disassemble the elements will also give you an idea of the correct flow rate setting to use. On the picture above we can see that the elements with a flow rate higher than 106% are difficult to detach. We can conclude that this setting will not be suitable for our prints.

By trying to assemble the paired elements you will be able to evaluate for which flow rate you get the best setting. Flow Tower Result

You can also measure the thicknesses for the different pins and validate for which flow you get the right thickness (4mm) Results table

We can see on this graph that the most accurate value is obtained for a flow at 100%. The printer and the profile are therefore well adjusted.

Notes

Check that the option Use Adaptive Layer is not active. Since release 1.2.4 when a Tower Model is used, the plugin checks if this parameter is not set. If the parameter is set to true then the value is changed and a message is displayed :

This model has been designed to be printed with a 0.4 Nozzle. In order to be sure to print the support already integrated in the model the option Print Thin Walls must be active. To avoid any issue concerning this This parameter is automaticaly activated. To inform the user of this modification an error message is displayed in Cura :
