@github-actions github-actions released this 22 Oct 19:37

Disc selection: every new copy of the game now asks where your NFL Blitz 2003 (USA) disc image is on its first start (the file picker opens at the last disc's folder). Before, a copy could silently reuse the disc another copy had chosen, or pick up a file by its name. Change the disc any time in the settings menu (Esc) > Disc.

Settings menu: Esc opens and closes it (controllers: Back or Z+Start). Choosing a section moves the highlight into its options; B (Backspace) goes back to the section list and no longer closes the menu.

Installed v1.0? Open the menu > Update to install this release.

You need your own NFL Blitz 2003 (USA) GameCube disc image. No game data is included; the first start compiles the game from your disc. Windows: unzip NFLBlitz2003-windows-x64.zip and run NFLBlitz2003.exe (the one-time compile needs Python 3 and the Visual Studio 2022 Build Tools with C++ and Clang). Linux / Steam Deck: unpack NFLBlitz2003-linux-x64.tar.xz and run NFLBlitz2003/NFLBlitz2003. See the README.

First release of the NFL Blitz 2003 PC port: the GameCube game recompiled to native code for Windows and Linux (including the Steam Deck).

You need your own NFL Blitz 2003 (USA) GameCube disc image (ISO, RVZ, WIA, CISO or GCZ). No game data is included; on first start the game compiles itself from your disc (a minute or two, about five on a Steam Deck).

Windows: unzip NFLBlitz2003-windows-x64.zip, run NFLBlitz2003.exe and pick your disc image. The one-time compile needs Python 3 and the Visual Studio 2022 Build Tools (C++ and Clang).

Linux / Steam Deck: unpack NFLBlitz2003-linux-x64.tar.xz and run NFLBlitz2003/NFLBlitz2003. Everything for the compile comes with the package (python3 is part of SteamOS and desktop Linux). Runs on Ubuntu 22.04 / Debian 12 era systems and newer with a Vulkan driver.

Highlights: native widescreen, high resolutions with MSAA, a settings menu usable with a controller (Esc / Back / Z+Start), the game's cheats without codes, disc selection, and updates from this page from inside the game. See the README for details.
