Notes

Issue #345 .Zip Application Note Consensus and Needing PR

Bill McDonald will make pull request and add from issue text.

Issue #337 Need to get ADL to host the CourseStructure.xsd Consensus and Needing PR

Jason Hagg will add a w3ID url for the XSD schema.

The URL will be as follows:

https://w3id.org/xapi/profiles/cmi5/v1/CourseStructure.xsd

(Where vx = Version x) The XSD schema will be version-ed separately from the cmi5 specification.

Issue #361 - LaunchMode captured in Launched Statement Consensus and Needing PR

The group agreed to the following changes:

9.6.3.x Launch Mode

ID: https://w3id.org/xapi/cmi5/context/extensions/launchmode

Description: Indicates what launch mode an AU was launched with by the LMS.

LMS Usage: LMS MUST add launchMode to the context of a “Launched” statement.

AU Usage: Not Applicable

AU Obligation: None

LMS Obligation: Required

Data type: String

Value space: Per launchMode vocabulary defined in section10.0 xAPI State Data Model

Issue #378 - Explicitly allow the LMS to override the "masteryScore" as defined in the course structure

The group agreed to the following changes:

6.1 Course Structures

  • The LMS SHOULD implement a means to create, edit, and maintain course structures.

13.0 Course Structure Data Requirements

13.2 LMS Course Structure Requirements

The LMS MAY override the following AU metadata elements at runtime:

  • masteryScore
  • moveOn

The LMS SHOULD have an editor to modify course structures. If the LMS modifies the course structure, it MUST create a new instance of the course structure with a different id.

Issue #379 - Abandoned shouldn't indicate "completion"

The group agreed to remove the following from section "9.5.3 Completion"

The completion property of the result MUST be set to false for statements having the following cmi5 defined verbs:

  • Abandoned

Issue #382 - Session id language should just be "cmi5 defined statements"

Per Brian Miller's comments, the cmi5 spec effectively says the AU must include the session id in all statements that use a verb within the defined set of cmi5 verbs, as opposed to saying that the session id must be included in statements that will include the cmi5 category ("cmi5 defined" statements).

The group discussed this issue but could not come to a resolution. This issue will be further discussed at next week's meeting.
