PROJECT OVERVIEW

This is a terminal/console-based live face detection application. It runs entirely in the terminal using your webcam for real-time face detection. Messages are displayed on the video window and continuously in the terminal for quick feedback.

INSTALLATION

Clone repository

git clone https://github.com/Abhinavsathyann/face_detection_terminal.git cd face_detection_terminal

Optional: create virtual environment

python -m venv venv

Activate environment

venv\Scripts\activate Windows source venv/bin/activate Linux / Mac

Install dependencies

pip install -r requirements.txt

USAGE

python main.py

• Opens live webcam feed
• Detects faces in real-time using Haar cascade
• Displays "Face Detected / No Face Detected" messages
• Press 'q' to quit
