Tsugumori 1.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Aleph1-9012 Aleph1-9012 released this 10 Oct 10:30

Tsugumori 1.2.0 restores small browser thumbnails in the music player and makes its glyph artwork brighter.

Changes

  • Fixed artwork remaining on the generated pattern when a browser supplies a small PNG thumbnail. The sampler now scales and clips the complete image instead of cropping with dimensions that exceed the canvas image.
  • Increased the opacity of darker glyphs while preserving the red-and-white palette and hover colour reveal.
  • Kept the centred artwork crop and bounded image decoding.
  • Extended the existing artwork regression check with a small synthetic browser thumbnail, alongside landscape and portrait artwork.

Install or update to this release

TSUGUMORI_BRANCH=v1.2.0 bash <(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Aleph1-9012/Tsugumori/v1.2.0/install.sh)

Use a fully updated Arch Linux installation with Hyprland 0.55.2 or newer. The tag selects the desktop configuration; packages still come from the current official Arch repositories. Backups are enabled by default, and existing hypr/user.lua and Quickshell Settings.qml files are preserved.

Validation

The focused artwork checks passed for landscape, portrait, and small PNG thumbnails at 125% display scaling. Brightness was checked with a rendered before-and-after comparison.

Tsugumori 1.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Aleph1-9012 Aleph1-9012 released this 08 Oct 14:03

Tsugumori 1.1.0 brings the desktop and installer improvements made since 1.0.0, followed by a dead-code cleanup.

Changes

  • Nautilus is now the default file manager, with a graphical Quickshare file picker and optional Nautilus and GTK file-dialog theming.
  • Reduced background work through shared Kitty processes, on-demand application and music scans, bounded player artwork, direct notification state sharing, and fewer audio helper processes.
  • Added GPU selection for the next login, a Waybar battery indicator, optional Fish configuration, and a tsugumori.lock_at_login override.
  • Improved notification history updates, dismissal and default-action handling, supported body markup, and persistent notifications with timeout 0.
  • Added confirmation to app-menu shutdown and restart actions. Improved monitor selection for scaled and rotated displays and prevented duplicate wallpaper pickers.
  • Improved installer recovery and preservation of personal settings, Bash PATH handling, desktop application launching, Wi-Fi name parsing, MPRIS position tracking, and Quickshare download filenames and routing.
  • Removed unused Control Center placeholder data, unused notification-row fields and imports, and the empty Hyprpaper config. This cleanup does not change desktop appearance.

Install or update to this release

Requires a fully updated Arch Linux installation, Hyprland 0.55.2 or newer, a normal user account, and sudo access.

TSUGUMORI_BRANCH=v1.1.0 bash <(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Aleph1-9012/Tsugumori/v1.1.0/install.sh)

Validation

Local release validation passed 138 Python tests, 40 standalone Qt behavior cases, syntax checks, Hyprland configuration verification, QML lint/import checks, and shader compilation. One GPU-render test was skipped by the offscreen software backend.

The required Arch GitHub Actions job, including ShellCheck, passed for release commit 128f2e1: validation run.
