🕷️ SPIDER Protocol v1.0.0 — Initial Open-Source Release

SPIDER (Specify • Plan • Implement • Document • Evaluate • Review) is a governed, regression-gated multi-agent software delivery protocol for AI coding agents (Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, OpenCode, and Gemini CLI).

✨ What's Included

  • 8 Specialist Agent Roles ("8 Legs"):
    • spider-orchestrator — Intake gatekeeper, requirement clarifying checkpoint, SHA-256 skill verifier, and sequential state-machine router
    • architect — System boundary owner, blast-radius evaluator, and minimum-change baseline analyst
    • ui-designer — Conditional UX flow, wireframe, and interactive HTML design spec designer
    • planner — Peer Tech Lead with formal KISS authority to challenge over-engineered architecture and author typed STEPS ([create], [modify], [delete], [reuse], [reference])
    • task-executor — Scoped implementation engineer restricted to one authorized task at a time (Ready ceiling)
    • task-validator — Independent regression gatekeeper and sole role authorized to transition delivery tasks to Done
    • debugger — Read-only root-cause investigator for taskless bugs; scoped surgical fixer for active repair loops
    • doc-cleanup — Completed task archiver and state-compaction specialist
  • 1 Shared Repository Memory ("1 Web"):
    • Ready-to-use template/ scaffold (project.md, requirements.md, decisions.md, task-index.yaml, architecture/)
  • Cross-Runtime Installer (scripts/install.py):
    • One-command installation for OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode, and Gemini CLI, plus --init-project scaffolding
  • SHA-256 Skill Integrity Verification:
    • Built-in verify_specialist_skills.py and 7-test suite (test_verify_specialist_skills.py) verified across Linux, macOS, and Windows in CI
