The difference between SCIC.1.0-x64.exe (174 KB) and SCIC.1.0-x64.Self-Contained (144 MB) lies in their dependency on the .NET runtime:

  • SCIC.1.0-x64.exe (174 KB) is a framework-dependent application. It relies on a shared version of the .NET runtime installed on the target machine. The application itself is smaller because it does not include the .NET runtime.

  • SCIC.1.0-x64.Self-Contained (148 MB) is a self-contained application. It includes the .NET runtime within the deployment package, making it significantly larger. This allows the application to run on machines without the .NET runtime installed.

Since most windows machines have the .NET runtime installed, most users should use the smaller framework-dependent version.
