Updates

• Nicole: Working on a uniform grid resampling filter

  • Will require VTKm 2.2 for the new vtkm::cont::DataSet::Merge() capabilities
  • A bit puzzled by current renderings of VTKm Probe output for distributed data

• User from National Center for High Technology wants to build with VTKm + Kokkos using CUDA

  • Nicole is trying to find a path on Lassen
    • Hit challenges involving Kokkos nvlink error, opened a ticket: https://github.com/kokkos/kokkos/issues/6920#
    • Attempted a Kokkos 4.2.0 + VTKm develop build and hit template errors, they are trying to reproduce (VTKm lists Kokkos 3.7+ as version to use)

• A user is asking for more of a guarantee when requested backend is working/not working, and default to openmp if desired backend is not available

• Cyrus completing CI spack changes when he can (waiting on Umpire-- released last week)

• Cyrus worked on RAJA data binning

• NASA bug with striding; need to circle back; waiting on data

• Unstructured meshes with heterogeneous data types

  • Prioritize for NASA; pyramids and wedges

• We plan to release Ascent 0.9.3 in April!

• James Kress asks for Ascent slides for WOIV '24, early May

• Need to make slides for DOE CGF at end of April

• Hank invited to participate in PSAP proposal
