Elmer Studio v1.1.0
Portable bundles and installers for Windows, macOS and Linux. Elmer itself is installed separately (see the installation guide). macOS builds are unsigned: right-click > Open the first time.
What's new since 1.0.0
Modeling
- Several components per model (
comp1.T), one-way couplings through operators - Form an Assembly with identity pairs (continuity for heat, electrostatics, currents, coefficient-form PDE)
- Parameters with units checked against each setting, parameter table load/save
- Selections that follow geometry edits; study dependency graph with out-of-date marks
Mesh
- Boundary layers (2D and 2D axisymmetric)
- ElmerGrid as an alternative mesher for layouts of axis-aligned rectangles and blocks
Physics and studies
- Solid Mechanics: Time Dependent (Bossak) and Frequency Domain studies, Rayleigh damping
- Electrochemistry: total-current electrode control, deforming electrodes, migration, tertiary current distribution with species transport
- Streamline diffusion (SUPG) in Transport of Diluted Species
- OpenFOAM (blockMesh) as an alternative solver backend for laminar flow and conduction
Results
- Probes (domain, boundary, point, global) with a Probe Table and plot, updated while a transient runs
- Export > Animation (GIF or PNG sequence)
Desktop
- Widescreen/Regular layouts, ribbon folding, keyboard navigation, node error/warning marks, Recovery Files after a crash, model files with a checked SHA-256 manifest
