First tagged release of AltoRank — an open-source AI SEO content engine that never publishes without a human approving the article.
This is a pre-launch release. It is tagged so that the project has a known, unchanging version to install and run, rather than requiring the latest development branch. There are no paying customers and no case studies.
What works in v0.1.0
- Keyword research and SERP analysis (DataForSEO)
- Domain audit — 9 readiness checks, crawl, PageSpeed
- Article generation: research → draft → score → fact-check
- Per-workspace brand voice profiles
- Publishing to 12 destinations, of which 10 are CMSs (
apps/web/lib/cms/adapter.ts) - 35 locales (
apps/web/lib/seo/locales.ts) - Scheduled rank tracking
- Search analytics: Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools
- AI visibility: whether AI answers name you, and who they name instead
- MCP server (
npm run mcp)
The approval gate
The MCP server exposes no publish tool — an absent one, not a disabled one. auto_generate has no publish counterpart: generation can be automated, publishing cannot. The gate lives in the publish step itself, so scheduled jobs and bulk actions cannot route around it.
Known limitations
- No packaged CLI yet
- Runs against your own Supabase and your own API keys
- Self-host with
docker/compose.yml
