Thank you for the suggestion. We investigated the desktop startup sound. AnduinOS uses GNOME packages from Ubuntu, but Ubuntu's Startup Sound switch in Settings and the corresponding playback in GNOME Shell come from Ubuntu-specific patches. Both activate only when the desktop session identifies itself as Ubuntu. AnduinOS uses its own GNOME session, so the switch is hidden and Ubuntu's startup-sound playback does not run. We found no change to AnduinOS's startup-sound default between versions 2.0.3 and 2.0.4. Supporting this in AnduinOS would mean maintaining an AnduinOS-specific implementation or custom patches to those GNOME components. We do not plan to take on that maintenance at this time, so we are closing this request as not planned. Thank you for bringing it up. Technical references: |
