RShop 0.2.5
Security hardening.
- Downloads and redirects. A download that is redirected to a mirror no longer takes the in-app browser's cookies along. Redirects from https to http, towards the local network, or in endless loops are refused.
- App updates. The update button now refuses a release that publishes no SHA-256 for its APK, instead of installing a file it cannot check.
- Backups. Restoring a backup now lists the servers its sources would contact before you confirm.
Update from 0.2.4 keeps all your data.
RShop 0.2.4
Fixes the stalls on 3D game boxes. Resting on a box for a few seconds could leave the app at 100% CPU with frames of several seconds, until you changed screen. The faces of the box were painted under the perspective and turned into CPU work at every frame of the sway; each face is now painted flat once and only the picture is turned. Measured on a Retroid Pocket 6: no slow frame over eight rests in a row, where it used to start at the third.
Smoother everywhere. The Home backdrop no longer blurs a full-screen cover at every move of the focus (a tiny stretched picture, changing once the focus rests); focus animations no longer recompose cards at every frame; covers are lighter; the background cover job pauses between batches so Home and Store are not reloaded all the time.
New source types.
- FTP, FTPS and SFTP servers: paste
ftp://,ftps://orsftp://host/pathin the sources screen and enter the login. Console and game folders are read like a Google Drive, downloads resume. Passwords are stored encrypted and never in an export or a backup. SFTP asks you to confirm the server key the first time and refuses the connection if it changes; plain FTP shows a warning. - JSON APIs: import a
type: "json"configuration naming the list, details and search URLs and where each field is in the JSON (see the README).
Update from 0.2.3 keeps all your data.
RShop 0.2.3
Downloads through a Google account no longer fail with "the server refuses the download". An access token can end before its announced time (revoked, or handed out from Play Services' cache already old): Google answered HTTP 401 to every download until it was renewed. RShop now drops the refused token and asks once more with a fresh one.
New theme: dark eShop. The eShop look (square controls, red bands, red rules under section titles) on charcoal pages, with a plain background. Settings › Appearance › Background.
Update from 0.2.2 keeps all your data.
RShop 0.2.2
Updates and DLC with the game. "Download all" now takes the game's parts, then its updates and DLC (pictures and notes stay out). A new Add files button on a game page queues an update or a DLC while the game downloads, or stores it with the installed game without replacing it. RShop places the files next to the game; applying an update or a DLC stays the emulator's job.
Split RAR archives. Games shared as Game.part1.rar, Game.part2.rar… are extracted once every volume is downloaded, instead of failing with "damaged archive". A missing volume is named in the error. A game that failed this way needs to be downloaded again.
Google Drive.
- Sign in with the Google account of the device works (the button was hidden on Android 11+). With an API key and an account, the catalogue is read with the key and downloads go through the account.
- Game names are read by one table of generic rules: scene releases (
NSwTcH-NSP-Ziperto), DLC counts ([34DLC],(2 DLCs)), "5 DLC" or "Update v1.17" folders, bare title ids. DLC and update folders join the game next to them. - A game page no longer fails when one of its add-on folders is not shared.
- Rescan everything now removes the games that are no longer found, even when some folders of the Drive are not shared. Run it once on each Drive source.
Interface.
- The featured carousel fades between games instead of sliding; it no longer freezes handhelds.
- The Library storage card folds to one line per folder (arrow on its header), and remembers it.
- A yellow mark on the Settings button: a sync icon while a catalogue sync runs, "!" when a new RShop version is available.
Update from 0.2.1 keeps all your data.
RShop 0.2.1
Google Drive: updates and DLC are no longer games of their own. They are told apart by Switch title ids, [UPDATE] / [DLC] tags and names like "Game Update 1.2", and they attach to their game as extra files in the file list at install time (an update whose game is not in the Drive is still listed). Titles lose the tags dumps add (title ids, versions, regions, languages, revisions), so covers and descriptions are searched under the real name; a game that gets a cleaner title is looked up again. Run Rescan everything on a Drive source once to clean up the old entries.
Library storage graph for several games folders. Each folder gets its own block: split per console (a console keeps its color), free space of its volume, shared bar for folders on the same volume. Games whose folder was removed are grouped apart.
Clearer Drive quota errors. A refused download says whether the file's own limit (too many recent downloads, by anybody) or the shared API key's quota is spent; rate limits are waited out and a refused key is reported as such.
Update from 0.2.0 keeps all your data.
RShop 0.2.0
Google Drive as a catalogue source. Paste the share link of a folder: consoles are detected from sub-folder names (even below a Roms/ folder), games from files and game folders, and for a Drive that only holds game folders RShop asks which console they belong to. Covers, screenshots and descriptions come from SteamGridDB, Libretro and Wikipedia. Three ways in, set up once with your own free Google Cloud project: the Google account of the device (Play Services), a Google sign-in page in the browser, or an API key for a folder shared with "Anyone with the link". Downloads are checked against Drive's MD5, and a spent Drive quota is reported instead of being worked around.
Pick the files you install. A game folder lists every file it holds, whatever the type (the files of an Update folder included); choose one or several.
Several games folders. Add as many as you like (internal storage, SD card...) in Settings, pick a default, and the installer asks which folder a game goes to. The library scan covers all of them.
Settings in tabs. Catalogue, Storage, Downloads, Cover art, Appearance, App.
RAR and RAR5 archives are now extracted (7-Zip engine).
Also: much faster Drive listing, and Drive refusals now say why.
Upgrading from 0.1.9 keeps your data (database migrated to version 15).
v0.1.9
Fixes the freezes and slowdowns seen on the PlayStation theme: the page behind the screens is now drawn once on its own layer instead of being redrawn at every frame of the Home banner's progress bar, and the PlayStation light curves are no longer recomputed at every frame. Cards and buttons also reuse their shapes.
RShop 0.1.8
Lighter on battery and CPU: database writes for covers, screenshots and descriptions are batched, the Glass and PlayStation backgrounds are still unless "Animated background" is turned on, a selected 3D box rests after a few swings, and the blurred artwork backdrop only shows on dark themes. Reading game pages ahead is now a setting, off by default.
Fixes: covers no longer reload when switching between flat and 3D, and text over artwork (the Home banner) is readable on every theme, including eShop. The logo and the switches have better contrast.
RShop 0.1.7
New screen styles: a Liquid-Glass-like Glass, a PlayStation Store blue and an eShop with red bands and flat tiles. Covers can now be shown as 3D game boxes.
Screenshots and descriptions for games the source does not describe (Libretro thumbnails, Wikipedia), Libretro covers without an API key, library sorting, Pause/Resume/Cancel buttons in download notifications, low-battery pause and free-space margin for downloads, a daily automatic update check, and Store filters that fold behind one button.
RShop 0.1.6
Games made of several files (discs, bin + cue), backup and restore (sources, favorites, lists, settings), button hints and a game menu on the controller (Y, X), Store filters (installed, demos/betas, region), better detection of the "next" button, and controller scrolling that now reaches titles and notes.
