Ctxfolio v2.8.0
Ctxfolio v2.8.0
Formerly project-context-system. Repository: https://github.com/AnshRoshan/ctxfolio
Skill/CLI 2.8.0 maps to package/plugin 3.8.0. The command ctx remains compatible; ctxfolio is the matching binary for npm/npx.
Completed roadmap
All 34 numbered roadmap units are implemented: source-backed context facts, read-only resume advisories, sanitized shared/private issue queues, hash-bound raw quarantine, declared provenance/validity, Unicode/IDF and symbol-aware budgeted routing, deterministic routing evaluation, actual cold-start evidence, lifecycle-aware ADR/query knowledge, metadata-only governed capture, populated scaffold tiers, project-local skills, declared host destinations, portable checks, delegated symbols, derived search/hierarchy, bounded read-only MCP and scoped team cursors/federation.
Existing authored content and native links are preserved. Stable legacy adapter metadata markers remain compatible across the rename. Skill installs retain the SHIP-only boundary; npm packages explicitly include the CLI, templates, references and user-facing docs, not private wiki, test history, Git metadata or website dependencies.
Verification
- Release CLI suite: 193 passed, 0 failed, 0 skipped.
- Scale/host/MCP/team flows: 18 passed, 0 failed.
- Packed npm installation, both binaries, copied-lite setup, doctor, npm exec and publish dry-run passed.
- Strict context lint, staleness, version mapping, original adapter/config preservation and website build passed.
- Frozen routing result: hit@8 1.0, precision 0.15 (routing metrics, not semantic answer success or measured model tokens).
- Actual cold-start reader, independently graded: 8 correct, 2 partial, one pair only. Usage/cost/time were unavailable; no matched savings baseline or generalized task-success claim.
npm publication
Published to npm as ctxfolio@3.8.0. The registry confirms latest: 3.8.0; packed installation and both binaries were tested. Install:
npx ctxfolio@3.8.0 setup
# or
npm install --global ctxfolio
ctx setupLimits
Host capabilities are declared; local MCP protocol tests do not prove every host loader. Attribution labels are declarations, not identity authentication. Quarantine is a deterministic instruction-shape heuristic, not universal attack detection. Locks coordinate cooperating writers; install publication is recoverable across two sibling renames, not a crash-atomic directory exchange.
v2.7.0 — native links and verified context integrity
v2.7.0 release notes
Skill/CLI 2.7.0 maps to package/plugin 3.7.0. The tag follows the skill track.
Changes since v2.4.1
- Budgeted JSON task routing with explicit review signals, correct Unicode/spaces/rename paths and safe setup boundaries.
- Single-source agent resources and file ownership: canonical
.agentsbodies, pointer-only native metadata and preservation-first migration. - Actual relative Git-compatible native symlinks, central Cursor views, Windows prerequisite guidance, immutable validation snapshots and non-destructive rollback recovery.
- Wave 0 substrate integrity: named frontmatter/glob contract errors; atomic wiki writes and live-owner-aware advisory locks; exact archive replay identity; validated staged SHIP-only installs with old-tree backups and local checksum manifest; setup CLI backup/config-schema migration; reserved roadmap/spec/tracker integrity; live router/related checks with fenced examples excluded.
- Always-green infrastructure: supported Node 22/24 on named Ubuntu/macOS/Windows runners, actual repository self-context gates, drift-negative probes, separate-track version/mapping/tag checks, read-only CI permissions, bounded jobs, concurrency cancellation and dependency update monitoring.
- The existing Vite/React website build is retained; this release does not claim its historical illustrative transcripts are a current benchmark.
Verification
Local candidate: Windows Node 24.21.0, node tests/run.mjs: 132 passed, 0 failed, 0 skipped. Strict wiki lint: 26 pages, 0 errors, 0 warnings; stale clean; doctor 13/13; copied CLI parity and baseline negative probes passed. Website npm run build passed.
The actual candidate passed all six Ubuntu/macOS/Windows jobs on Node 22/24, plus strict self-context and scaffold checks: https://github.com/AnshRoshan/project-context-system/actions/runs/39552815955. The verified commit was fast-forwarded to main and tagged v2.7.0. Main and actual tag CI are checked separately before final completion.
Limits
Hooks are best-effort bookkeeping, not verification of live host behavior. Advisory locks coordinate cooperating processes, not hostile filesystem writers. Install publishes with two sibling renames: caught failures restore an unoccupied target or report recovery backups, while a hard kill between renames may require recovery. A checksum manifest records local provenance; it is not remote authentication. Cold-start/eval claims remain unmeasured until their roadmap units run.
v2.4.1 — one command, any repo, every agent
Turn any repository — any language, greenfield or brownfield — into a self-maintaining markdown context wiki your coding agents read instead of re-exploring.
One link to install: paste the repo URL to your agent, or git clone + node <clone>/scripts/ctx.mjs install.
One command to set up: cd your-project && node <skill-dir>/scripts/ctx.mjs setup — detects your stack, scaffolds AGENTS.md + context/ wiki + path-gated rules + subagents, drafts the codebase map on brownfield, self-checks with 12 doctor checks. Idempotent and upgrade-safe: re-run any time.
Highlights: zero dependencies · task ledger with merge-collision lint for teams · ctx archive growth rotation · delegation to graphify/ctags/aider when present · ASD-STE100 prompt craft for specs · works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini, Qoder · 47/47 tests on ubuntu/macos/windows.
