Thoth Browser 0.9.6 — the Windows follow-up to 0.9.5: the collapsed-sidebar bug, the in-row close button, resize responsiveness and a much larger icon set.

Fixes in 0.9.6

• Sidebar expand: clicking the toolbar's sidebar toggle while collapsed could leave the sidebar at zero width forever — the expand animation ran while the collapse path still pinned maximumWidth to zero, so every resize request was clamped away. The width limits are now restored before the final layout is re-requested.
• Close buttons are part of the row again: page rows in the sidebar carry their close button inline (single-column layout). Clicks on the row surface, double-clicks, drags and the context menu all keep working through event forwarding, and the close button itself is a real, accessible button.
• Resize feels live: the frame-pacing thread previously idled out after 250 ms, so pages pushed during a window drag waited for the thread to be rebuilt before appearing. It now stays warm for 4 seconds, and windows resize with the page attached instead of catching up afterwards.

More icons everywhere

• 25 new glyphs rendered from lucide-static 1.61.0 through resvg in the three stroke weights: compass, bookmark, clock, heart, layers, zap, flame, feather, anchor, gem, folder-closed, image, tag, code, user, bell, lightbulb, printer, file-text, message-circle, music, box, archive, sliders-horizontal, layout-grid.
• The workspace symbol picker grows from 4 to 14 icons (now with the icons shown in the picker menu), and new workspaces rotate through a wider default set.
• Windows application menus and context menus now carry icons for history, clear browsing data, task manager, settings, devtools, view source, zoom in/out/reset, images and downloads.

Platform notes

All of the above is Windows-only code, guarded so the macOS branch keeps its own Sparkle-driven update flow and native chrome. Windows builds are not code-signed, so SmartScreen may ask for confirmation on first run ("More info" → "Run anyway").

Thoth Browser 0.9.5

Thoth Browser 0.9.5 — the Windows build catches up on the platform work and ships the audit fixes found in the 0.9.2 review. The macOS build stays on its own branch and its own release channel.

New on Windows in 0.9.5

• Automatic updates: the browser now checks GitHub releases for a newer Windows installer (quietly once per session, plus a manual "Check for Updates…" entry in the sidebar menu) and can download and run the update for you. macOS keeps using signed Sparkle updates; the two flows stay separate.
• Audio input: getUserMedia microphone capture works through a new WASAPI recording backend, and audio input/output device enumeration now tracks device changes live (the enumeration FIXME is gone).
• Camera capture: a Media Foundation backend powers the camera UI that previously returned no devices. Formats, frames and the per-site permission flow from the desktop-updates branch are wired end to end. Multi-camera device selection is still limited to the default camera for now.
• Crash capture: helper processes install an unhandled-exception filter that records the stack into the crash-report channel and writes a minidump to %TEMP%\ThothCrashes for post-mortem debugging.

Fixes from the audit

• Scrollbars no longer glare on dark pages: the thumb and track alphas were halved so the scrollbar stays legible without dominating the page edge in dark themes.
• Window resize leaves no black gap: resizing (or maximizing) the window now repaints immediately with the page background instead of leaving stale uninitialized surface until the next frame arrives.
• Windows-style shortcut hints: workspace tooltips show Ctrl+Alt+N instead of the macOS glyph row.

UI consistency (continuing 0.9.2's unification)

0.9.2 put every chrome surface on Thoth's lavender palette; 0.9.5 follows up so that the address bar autocomplete, its popovers and the menus all derive from the same material anchors, and the sidebar toolbar row keeps its hairline separation in both light and dark schemes.

Known limitations

• window.print() and "save page as" remain unimplemented (engine-level work).
• Multi-camera selection is limited to the default camera.
• Windows builds are not code-signed, so SmartScreen asks for confirmation on first run.

The macOS zip is byte-identical to the v0.9.2-preview.20261023.7 prerelease build (SHA-256 27d3ed8e…91377); no Windows-specific code went into it and no new macOS build was produced for this release. The Windows artifacts come from the main tree, which carries the Windows adaptations plus the merged macOS desktop-updates branch (platform-guarded, so the macOS build path is untouched).

Windows changes in 0.9.2

• HLS (m3u8) playback: playlists are expanded into a single virtual byte stream; the bundled FFmpeg now includes the h264/hevc/aac decoders and parsers plus the mpegts demuxer; MPEG-TS reports buffered ranges through a constant-rate navigator. Transport-stream, fMP4 and master-playlist cases all pass.
• Smoother rendering: frames are paced by DwmFlush() on a dedicated thread. The previous timer-based grid collapsed 60 Hz rendering to roughly half rate on Windows' default 15.6 ms timer quantum.
• Toolbar: the sidebar toggle sits 16 px from the navigation cluster with a divider, so reaching for it no longer accidentally clicks Back.
• HTTPS: RequestServer now discovers a CA bundle automatically (SSL_CERT_FILE, then cacert.pem next to the executable or in its parent), fixing SSL verification failed on machines where the system certificate store is inaccessible.
• Merged the macOS desktop-updates branch: bundled Lucide icon assets, sidebar row close buttons with accessibility support, single-click navigation with loading feedback, per-site camera/microphone permission UI with "remember" support.
• Camera capture is wired end to end on macOS; on Windows the UI framework is present but device enumeration returns empty until a Media Foundation backend lands.
• Installer versioned as 0.9.2; Start-menu and desktop shortcuts pass an explicit --profile-path so first launch never depends on the default-profile lookup under %TEMP%.
• Automatic updates remain macOS-only (Sparkle); the Windows build shows a disabled menu entry.

macOS in 0.9.2

Identical to the v0.9.2-preview.20261023.7 prerelease: single-click navigation with loading feedback, hover close controls with real accessible buttons, bundled Lucide glyphs, camera capture with live constraints, verified signed updates. The Sparkle appcast.xml update channel stays on the preview releases and is intentionally not attached here.

恢复侧栏关闭按钮原有的悬停显示方式，并将浏览器功能图标统一为 Lucide 图标库资源。

• 鼠标位于整个标签行时显示 ×，离开后隐藏；键盘聚焦也可显示和操作。
• 使用真实按钮统一图标、点击区域和无障碍动作，移除旧的手绘图标与独立点击拦截。音量控件与关闭按钮互不重叠。
• 导航、关闭、搜索、HTTP/HTTPS、下载、音量、工作区和菜单采用随应用打包的 Lucide 1.61.0 资源，包含 ISC 授权说明。
• 已在安装后的正式窗口验证显示、隐藏与图标中心点击；六组 Qt 测试和完整回归检查通过。

修复侧边栏标签页右侧 × 图标与实际点击区域错位。此前点击区域错误使用包含音频列的整行坐标，向右偏移 30 像素；现在绘制和点击统一使用第一列的实际矩形。

• 已验证点击 × 中心关闭对应标签，原先偏移区域不会误关闭。
• 新增真实双列侧栏控件回归测试，覆盖不同宽度；六组 Qt 测试通过。
• 保留原生 macOS 窗口按钮布局以及已有摄像头和自动更新支持。

构建：2610.23.4。更新包通过 Developer ID 签名、Apple 公证及 Sparkle 签名验证后发布。

修复关闭按钮图标与实际按钮位置错位，构建号 2610.23.3。

• 左上角窗口按钮采用 macOS 原生布局，移除布局完成后再逐个偏移按钮的逻辑，使系统按钮、悬停图标和点击区域保持一致。
• 侧栏页面关闭图标与点击区域共享同一坐标计算，适配缩进、滚动及分屏行；点击图标外的空白区域不再意外关页。
• 保留上一版的摄像头分辨率支持与自动更新功能。

验证：六组 Qt 测试通过；独立原生测试窗口的可见关闭按钮中心点击验证通过；桌面导航、下载、分屏、多窗口与重启恢复回归通过。

macOS Apple Silicon。现有预览版可以检查更新，下载后重启安装。

补充：本构建的侧栏关闭区域仍有两列坐标偏差；完整修正在构建 2610.23.4，自动更新源暂不推广本构建。

本次重点修复摄像头的分辨率和持续预览，构建号 2610.23.2。

• 根据摄像头实际格式选择分辨率与帧率，默认优先 1080p30。
• 支持网页通过 getUserMedia / applyConstraints 请求和切换尺寸，提供 getCapabilities / getSettings / getConstraints。
• 支持较小尺寸的裁剪缩放；无法满足的必需约束返回错误，不把低清画面放大冒充高清。
• 修复预览刷新计时器未启动造成的画面停留，以及默认摄像头选择。
• 保留自动检查、下载、验签和重启安装更新；上一个预览版可通过“检查更新”获取本版。

验证：11 项格式选择测试；签名应用实机通过 480p、720p、1080p、853×479 和 15fps 切换、双摄像头来源、权限、Canvas、暂停、禁用、克隆与停止测试；桌面和恢复回归通过。

摄像头最高输出取决于设备能力。4K/8K 原生模式可参与选择，但本次实机验收设备为 1080p。摄像头预览支持不代表已支持 WebRTC 会议或录制。

macOS Apple Silicon。使用 ZIP 中的 Thoth Browser.app 替换旧应用即可。旧的 0.9.1 需要先安装本版，之后可使用内置自动更新。

Thoth Browser 0.9.2 Preview (2610.23.1)

此预览版加入自动检查更新、后台下载、下载完成提示和“重启并安装更新”。更新包使用 Ed25519 验签；应用使用 Developer ID 签名并经 Apple 公证。

• 修复 ⌘T 后焦点被网页抢走，以及下载改变原页面侧边栏标题的问题。
• 重启只加载当前页面／当前分屏，其他标签保留记录、按需加载。
• 侧边栏增加播放提示、静音／取消静音；补齐中文、键盘激活和命名的无障碍页面条目。
• macOS 摄像头接通站点权限、系统权限、MediaStream 视频预览与 Canvas 读帧；导航和撤销权限会停止采集。
• 提供页面搜索、工作区导入导出、站点设置和受保护的后台页面休眠工具。

0.9.1 没有内置更新器，需要先手动安装一次此预览版。安装后可在“帮助 → 更新”和浏览器菜单管理更新；原生应用菜单提供“检查更新”。下载中的普通文件会推迟重启。

已通过五项 Qt 测试、浏览器端到端回归、八页面懒恢复、原生中文输入／静音检查，以及正式签名包的真实摄像头验收。签名更新测试应用完成下载与版本替换；篡改更新包会导致验签失败。

摄像头当前以约 10 Hz 传输预览帧，通常为 640×480。尚不包含 WebRTC 视频通话、跨源 iframe 摄像头授权和完整设备约束协商。更新会恢复页面网址及工作区布局，未保存的表单与 JavaScript 运行状态不会序列化。此版本为预览，0.9.1 仍保留为稳定版。
