ArchivSector-OD v4.0 Beta 2
ArchivSector-OD v4.0 — Beta 2 (test version)
⚠ This is a pre-release for testing. If you'd rather stay on a finished version, keep v3.4. Coming from Beta 1? Just replace the folder.
New in Beta 2
- 💿 Burn BIN/CUE CD images with the own writer: data and music tracks, Redumper-style dumps (one .bin per track) or a single .bin, track gaps, and music from .wav files. Verified sector by sector, with the music lined up first.
- 🔁 Copy disc: an exact, verified copy of a data disc, a music CD, or a CD with data and music (many games). One drive or two, up to 10 copies.
- 🧽 Erase BD-RE and DVD+RW: quick (seconds) or full (can be stopped).
- Drive Bays: Eject/Close Tray follows the real tray, and blank discs show who made them and their write speeds.
- The burn queue takes BIN/CUE images, the verify shows the live speed, and runs at full speed after a slower burn.
The CD-RW issue listed in Beta 1 turned out to be a damaged image file, not the drives or the discs.

Especially other drives (LG, Pioneer, LiteOn, USB burners) and BIN/CUE burning (game dumps with music tracks are ideal). Open an issue with Burn → Drive info → 📋 Copy report, the disc type and brand, and that day's log from %AppData%\ArchivSector-OD\Logs.
Known issues
- Dual-layer DVD-R DL and BD-R DL go to ImgBurn for now.
- Copy disc doesn't copy CD-Extra (multi-session) discs yet.
ArchivSector-OD v4.0 Beta 1
ArchivSector-OD v4.0 — Beta 1 (test version)
⚠ This is a pre-release for testing. If you'd rather stay on a finished version, keep v3.4. Beta testers will be told when v4.0 is released.
What's new
- 🔥 Burn tab with five modes: Write (one ISO or a queue), Build ISO from a folder, Read disc to an ISO, Verify disc against its ISO, and Drive info.
- ArchivSector-OD's own writer: talks to the drive directly and uses the whole disc. It writes CD-R/RW, DVD±R, DVD±RW, DVD+R DL, BD-R and BD-RE. ImgBurn takes over automatically for anything it can't burn.
- Write speed choice, a burn queue, an optional health check after burning, and erase for CD-RW/DVD-RW.
- Drive cards that update by themselves when a tray opens or shuts, and show who made the disc and its speeds.
- 🎨 Eleven themes, plus holiday themes that come on for their week (🎃 Halloween right now).
- Clearer messages when a disc fails, and better movie artwork matches.
Full list, known issues and fixes: CHANGELOG.md
Please help test
The own writer has been tested on an ASUS BW-16D1HT, so other drives are what I most need to hear about. If something goes wrong (or works!), open an issue and include:
- Burn → Drive info → 📋 Copy report (your drive model, firmware and the disc's details)
- the disc type and brand
- that day's log from
%AppData%\ArchivSector-OD\Logs
Known issues
- CD-RWs written over several times may fail to verify in some drives. Use CD-R for anything important.
- Dual-layer DVD-R DL and BD-R DL go to ImgBurn for now.
ArchivSector-OD-v3.4
🔗 ArchivSector-OD v3.4 — Shortcut check & small additions
✨ New
- Shortcut check: if a Desktop, Start Menu or taskbar shortcut opens an older copy of ArchivSector-OD (one the updater doesn't reach, like an old folder in Downloads), the app offers to point it to the copy you're running. The older copy isn't deleted, and "No" is remembered.
- New TargetFill size: Blu-ray BD-25 (Windows burn) — 24,220,008,448 bytes, exactly what Windows' own burning engine can write to a BD-R. Fill or pad to 100% and burn without ImgBurn.
- 🔎 Look up Title ID for Xbox 360 dumps that couldn't be named automatically: searches the web for the game's Title ID (and copies it), so you can find the name and type it in.
⬆️ Updating
On v2.3 or later, the app offers v3.4 by itself when it starts. Your settings, history and artwork are kept.

ArchivSector-OD v3.3.0
🔥 ArchivSector-OD v3.3 — Burn discs & pad existing ISOs
✨ New
- 🔥 Burn ISOs to blank discs, right from the drive bay. Put in a blank CD-R, DVD±R or BD-R and the bay shows the disc type and free space, with a Burn an ISO to this disc button.
- Burns with ImgBurn (picked automatically when installed) or Windows' built-in burning engine (nothing to install).
- ImgBurn uses the whole disc. Windows keeps 768 MB of every BD-R spare, so a full BD-25 (25,025,314,816 bytes) needs ImgBurn. The bay shows both sizes and picks ImgBurn for an ISO that only fits with it.
- Verify after burning: the disc is compared with the ISO byte for byte.
- Optional: move the ISO to the Recycle Bin once the disc is burned and verified.
- The PC stays awake while burning, and every burn is recorded in History.
- 📀 Pad existing ISOs (TargetFill tab): add one or many ISOs and pad them, one at a time with progress bars, to exactly 100% of a disc. Nothing inside the ISO moves, so movies and games still play. Make padded copies or pad the originals; ↺ Remove padding undoes it.
- 📄 Saved logs in
%AppData%\ArchivSector-OD\Logs(kept 30 days), with an Open log button in each bay, plus more complete crash reports. - 🔎 Smarter movie search: add the year in brackets, e.g. One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961). Titles with numbers are also searched in words, so 101 Dalmatians finds both films. Up to 20 results.
🐛 Fixed
- The window froze for a few seconds when a disc went in or a tray closed.
- A blank disc couldn't be ejected with the bay's Eject button.
⬆️ Updating
On v2.3 or later, the app offers v3.3 by itself when it starts. Your settings, history and artwork are kept.

ArchivSector-OD v3.2
🏷️ Game dumps name themselves
When a game dump finishes and you haven't typed a name, it's renamed automatically — file and folder:
- Any console: if the dump matches an imported Redump DAT, it gets Redump's exact name, e.g. "NHL 13 (USA, Europe) (En,Fr,De,Sv,Fi,Ru,Cs)"
- Original Xbox: the real game name is read from inside the dump, even without a Redump match (e.g. "Madden NFL 2002")
- Xbox 360: names come from Redump's Xbox 360 DAT (free from redump.org — import it in Settings). The game's Title ID is shown in the log either way.
- Cover art is then fetched automatically from RAWG
- A name you type yourself always wins
🐛 Fixed
- The Disc health check button showed an empty box instead of its icon on some versions of Windows
ArchivSector-OD v3.1
🩺 Disc health check
A new button in every drive bay reads every sector of the disc and shows a live map of how fast each part reads, from the inner edge to the outer edge — green for good, amber for slow, red for unreadable. Slow areas are often the first sign of wear or a disc starting to fail, long before files stop opening.
- Verdict at the end: Healthy / Readable, with slow areas / Damaged
- Works on Blu-ray, DVD and CD — including music CDs and PS1 games
- Saves a report with the exact damaged areas, and records the check in History
- Read-only: nothing is ever written to the disc
📚 Batch TargetFill
Add several folders in the TargetFill tab and build all their ISOs (or pad them all) in one go, each named after its folder.
🐛 Fixed
- Generate .ISO Image could fail with "The process cannot access the file … because it is being used by another process" (v3.0). ISOs now build reliably and still fill the disc to exactly 100%.
Everyone on v3.0 should update — the app offers it by itself at startup.
ArchivSector-OD v3.0
v3.0: TargetFill built in (full TargetFill Pro feature set)
- New 🎯 TargetFill tab with every TargetFill Pro feature: presets,
custom sizes, split balance, ISO builds, auto-span, PAR2, labels,
ImgBurn, Expert Mode, instructions - ISO images filled to exactly 100% (measured and trimmed to the sector)
- Right-click "TargetFill (ArchivSector-OD)" on folders opens a
TargetFill-only window - "Make archival backup disc" button on drive bays
- Crash log in %AppData%\ArchivSector-OD\crash.log
- Fix: Settings, theme and Unattended Mode no longer overwrite bay names
ArchivSector-OD-v2.4.1
⬇️ Download
On v2.3 or later? The app offers this update by itself when it starts. Just click Yes.
Otherwise, download ArchivSector-OD-v2.4.1.zip below, unzip the whole folder, and run ArchivSector-OD.exe (Windows 10/11, 64-bit, no installer or .NET needed). If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway. Your settings, history, and artwork are kept.
⚙️ Changed
- After a successful CD dump, the raw
.scramand.statefiles are deleted automatically. Together they're about the size of the whole disc and are only needed to rebuild the image, which is already done. The.bin,.cueand small log files are kept.
🐛 Fixed
- A CD with damaged spots made the dump fail. The app now re-reads just the damaged sectors (Redumper's refine step) and tries again. If the disc still can't be read, it says so and suggests cleaning it.
- CD dump error messages now show Redumper's actual error instead of a cut-off message.
ArchivSector-OD-v2.4
⬇️ Download
On v2.3? The app offers this update by itself when it starts. Just click Yes.
Otherwise, download ArchivSector-OD-v2.4.zip below, unzip the whole folder, and run ArchivSector-OD.exe (Windows 10/11, 64-bit, no installer or .NET needed). If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway. Your settings, history, and artwork are kept.
✨ Added
- PC game discs and other data discs can now be dumped (the 🎮 button was greyed out for them). They go into
Games\PC_and_Other\and never start by themselves, only when you click. - Music CDs can be dumped as an exact copy (
.binper track +.cue) into their ownMusic_CDs\folder. Type the album name in the File name box first, since every music CD is just called "Audio CD". - Burned CDs of MP3s (or other music files) go into
Music_CDs\too, recorded in History as "Music CD (files)". - Note: music CD dumps are exact disc copies, not a music rip. For playable FLAC/MP3 files per song, use a dedicated ripper like EAC or dBpoweramp.
🐛 Fixed
-
CD dumps were always reported as failed, because Redumper only saves the raw read for CDs. The app now runs Redumper's second step itself, so PS1 games and other CDs come out as
.bin+.cue. -
Music CDs are recognized more reliably (any
.cdatrack or the "Audio CD" label), with a backup check of Redumper's track list after the dump. -
Burned CDs full of MP3s (or other music files) go into
Music_CDs\too.
ArchivSector-OD-v2.3
⬇️ Download
Download ArchivSector-OD-v2.3.zip below, unzip the whole folder, and run ArchivSector-OD.exe. No installer and no .NET install needed (Windows 10/11, 64-bit).
Updating from an older v2 version? Replace your old folder with this one. Your settings, history, and artwork are kept. This is the last time you'll need to do it by hand: from v2.3 on, the app updates itself.
✨ Added
- One-click updates: the app checks for a new version when it starts. Say yes and it downloads, verifies, installs and restarts by itself, keeping your settings and history. It never updates during a rip, and the startup check can be turned off in Settings.
- PlayStation 4 discs are now recognized as game discs (before, every rip button stayed greyed out). The bay shows the real game name, "PlayStation 4" and the serial (e.g.
CUSA-36842), the ISO is named after the game, and dumps go intoGames\PlayStation 4\. - Xbox One discs are recognized too, with the real game name read from the disc. Multi-disc games get "(Disc 1)", "(Disc 2)" added. Dumps go into
Games\Xbox One\. - Note: PS4 and Xbox One dumps are encrypted exact copies of the disc, for preservation and Redump verification. They can't be played or installed directly.
🐛 Fixed
- Original Xbox discs showed up as DVD movies. They're now recognized as game discs as soon as they're inserted, and an Xbox disc dumped through the DVD menu is moved to the right Games folder afterwards.
- Saved artwork was looked up by the disc's label, so one game's cover showed for every disc with a generic label like
DVD_ROM. Discs with a generic label now use their serial instead, or no saved art.
