Try Fonyx without installing anything.

chmod +x Fonyx-x86_64.AppImage
./Fonyx-x86_64.AppImage

Opening it starts its own audio engine if none is running; closing the window stops it again, and every app goes back to its usual output.

Needs a PipeWire session with WirePlumber on a recent distribution (Ubuntu 24.04, Debian 13, Fedora 40, Arch, or newer): it uses your system's own PipeWire.

Built from branch appimage; regular releases will carry the AppImage from now on.
