problem running on Acer Aspire One #1481
Comments
Hello, regards |
I have no smartphone! Sorry to seemingly have ignored you, but I'm a disabled Vietnam veteran and spent most of 2016 in and out of the hospital. Am now free to resume my effort to correct this problem. I will as a next step build from source so as to have a pulpit to preach from. I'd advise no particular status to this effort as 1. I'm a bit of a flake and 2. Since this doesn't affect performance it is merely an annoyance, not a first class bug! regards in belated return… |
Was this fixed by an update in the meantime? |
No, this is out of the box, no need to build at all.
In as much as it disappears (like a good little screen saver should) as
soon as a key is touched or mouse moved, I'm not sure just how one would
capture the screen. Suggestions? To improve my description, it is the text
in white that is not visible, mostly—there is the occasional small number
that is randomly visible. The bars and other more graphical entities are
shown, just not the text.
No, updates current and for as long as it has been running on this
small box have made no difference. This has been the case for some years
now, sorry that I only now have mentioned it.

I have an Acer Aspire One (white, with the oldest ver. of the Atom CPU) with Win7 Starter. |
Is this still an issue? |
Yes, at least for me…

You can use the Icecream Screen Recorder to record the screen saver, then use something like https://handbrake.fr/ to recompile the video to a smaller size and add it here. Or just describe in detail what you see, what you expect to see etc. |
I'll give that a shot—thanks for the pointer!

Or you could try to use the camera on a (smart)phone to make a picture of
the monitor when the screen saver shows and add that.

The screen text for the Boinc screensaver does not display an some of the graphics do not show. This in no way affects the work done.
