What changed

Security

  • A file request's total cap holds when uploads overlap
    (GHSA-4pc6-66f4-q2x4).
max_uploads was checked against the count the request had read and the
count moved only after the files were written, so uploads sent at the same
time all passed: a link capped at one file took fifteen concurrent uploads,
and where the owner's account has no quota the files could keep coming.
A submission's files are now claimed against the cap in one database
statement before the first is written, and a file the storage did not take
gives its place back. Reported by @Refaelyk.

Fixed

  • The snap says what a plug allows before it asks you to connect it. The
Snap Store leaves password-manager-service and removable-media for you
to connect, so the desktop app now asks snapd (snapctl is-connected)
instead of guessing. With the keyring plug not connected, the sign-in window
says that connecting it lets filex keep its tokens encrypted in GNOME
Keyring or KWallet, gives the snap access to the secrets stored there and
lets other apps that reach the keyring read what filex puts there, and only
then shows the command; with the plug connected and no keyring answering,
it says to start or unlock the keyring. A sync folder chosen under
    /media, /run/media or /mnt while removable-media is not connected
ended in a permission error that did not say why; it is now refused with
what the plug allows and a button that copies the command
(DESKTOP.md → The plugs you connect).
  • The desktop app's file list speaks the account's language from a
    language pack.
The explorer inside the desktop window stayed in English or
Turkish when the account used a language a language pack adds on the
server: the window never loaded the server's list of languages, and handed
the explorer its own built-in fallback instead of the account's language.
It now loads the active server's languages before the explorer opens,
follows the account's language (the window's own menus keep English or
Turkish), forgets the previous server's languages on a server switch and
ignores a late answer from it. Contributed by @chengjie (#122).
  • The admin panel's one-column menus open under their own button. In the
top bar, People and Maintenance & records opened their panel at the
bar's start, under the dashboard link, two or three buttons away from the
one that was pressed. A one-column panel now hangs from its own button (in
a right-to-left interface, from its right edge); the wide panels with
several columns keep the bar's start, where they have room.
