filex v0.57.3
Self-hosted file manager - Go single binary + multi-framework frontend.
Download a binary below, or pull a Docker image:
docker pull ghcr.io/brf-tech/filex:slim-v0.57.3
docker pull ghcr.io/brf-tech/filex:full-v0.57.3What changed
Changed
- An embedded explorer speaks its visitor's language, and has a Language
setting of its own.<filex-explorer>- and the explorer in any host that
does not keep the person's preferences on their account - put the host's
config.localeabove everything, so every visitor read the host's language
whatever their browser asked for. It now speaks the language picked in this
browser under ⋯ → Language (kept in the browser, sent nowhere), then the
account's language when a person is behind the credential, then the
browser's languages that the server offers (language packs included: the
embed loads the server's list when it mounts), thenconfig.locale, then
English. In such a personal embed a language picked there is saved to the
account too, and the host'sconfig.localeis no longer written to an
account that has no language. The filex web app and desktop app keep the
account's language (INTEGRATION.md → Language,
task #275).
Fixed
- A PDF or office file can no longer take the server down while its text is
read (GitHub #123). Some
PDFs of about a megabyte sent the PDF reader into memory without end: one
install's filex reached 27 GB and the kernel killed it, three times in a
minute. PDF and office files are now read in a process of their own, with a
memory ceiling and a two-minute limit; one that passes either is stopped,
the file is found by its name only, and filex goes on. The ceiling is a new
setting on Admin → Settings → General → Search settings, Memory for
reading one file (search.extract_memory_mb, first value from
FILEX_SEARCH_EXTRACT_MEMORY_MB):0, the default, shares the indexing
memory budget between the files read at once (256 MB to 1 GB). A job
cancelled while filex stops is no longer recorded as a file without text
(SEARCH.md → Content search). - A queued job whose attempts are spent is not handed out again after a
crash. The orphan recovery at startup put every job left running back in
the queue, so a job that brought filex down came back at every start; one
whose attempts are spent is now failed (interrupted: filex stopped while running it, and its attempts are spent), on SQLite, MySQL, PostgreSQL and
Redis (GitHub #123). - The desktop app no longer waits forever for a server's languages. A
server that accepted the connection and never answered kept the window on
"Connecting" with no Retry; the list is given up after ten seconds and the
file list opens in English or Turkish (task #275). @brftech/filex's type declarations are valid TypeScript again.
dist/index.d.tscarriedloadLocalesas its source - a function body and a
default value in a declaration file - which a project that type-checks its
libraries refused; it is now declared with@brftech/filex-core's type
(task #275).- The
localeattribute of<filex-explorer>takes a language pack's
language (locale="es"), as the package README says; it took onlyen
andtr, and anything else was dropped (task #275).
