Configuring a Press

Andy Byers edited this page Sep 13, 2017 · 2 revisions

The press manager is available at pressdomain.com/manager/ if you are using domain multi-tenancy or yoursitedomain.com/press/manager/ if you are using path multi-tenancy.

The Press manager displays a sortable list of current journals (the order of which is the order they are displayed on the Journals page), a list of the latest publications across the platform and a set of managers:

  • Content (CMS)
  • News
  • Contact (for the contact form)
  • Press Details
  • Homepage Elements (for configuring the home page of the press)
  • Plugins

Content Manager

The content manager works exactly the same as it does for journals, you can add content pages with rich HTML, see the Content Manager page for more information.

News Manager

The news manager allows you to add news items to the press using rich HTML. See the News Manager page for more information.

Contact Manager

The contact manager allows you to set the people who are contactble via the Contact Form page.

Homepage Elements

This manager allows you to determine what elements appear on your homepage. See the Homepage Elements for more information.

Press Details

The press details page lets you set:

  • The name of your press
  • The Press' footer
  • The main contact email address of the press
  • The Press' theme
  • The Default Carousel image (highly recommended you fill this in as it is the default image displayed for news and carousel objects if none is directly supplied)
  • The Press' Favicon

Plugins

Along the left hand side menu there is a link to Plugins that will let you access and control any press wide plugins that are available.

Add a New Journal

In the journals block there is a button in the top right that allows you to add a new journal. Complete the fields in the modal and Janeway will configure a new journal for you. If you are using domain based journals you will need to ensure the domain is pointing at your server before doing this or you will not be able to access the journal. If using path based journals you will be fine to add a journal.

Note: For Journal Domain you should put the domain if using domain based multi-tenancy or the site domain plus the journal code if using path based multi-tenancy (ie. yoursitedomain.com/code_of_journal/)
