β Phases Completed (4/6)
PHASE 1: Dead Code Removal β»οΈ
Duration: 3 hours
Impact: -2,115 LOC removed
Removed Components:
-
Documentation Feature (6 files, 1,313 LOC)
- sticky-note-extractor.js
- markdown-generator.js
- quality-verifier.js
- dependency-analyzer.js
- worker-pool.js
- workflow-graph.js

-
Debug Scripts (1 file, 53 LOC)
- list-duplicates.js
Validation:
- β Zero broken imports detected
- β ESLint passing
- β All tests passing
- β CLI functionality verified
PHASE 2: HttpClient Unification π
Duration: 6 hours
Impact: +960 LOC added
New Components:
1. HttpClient (590 LOC)
Generic HTTP client with enterprise features:
- Retry Logic: Exponential backoff (1s β 2s β 4s β 8s)
- Timeout Management: Configurable with AbortSignal
- Rate Limiting: Requests per second control
- Interceptors: Request/response middleware
- Statistics: Request tracking and metrics
- Security: Automatic API key masking in logs
2. N8NHttpClient (370 LOC)
Specialized N8N client extending HttpClient:
- N8N Methods: getWorkflows, createWorkflow, updateWorkflow, deleteWorkflow
- Tag Management: getTags, createTag, updateTag
- Authentication: X-N8N-API-KEY header management
- Error Handling: N8N-specific error parsing
Benefits:
- Eliminated axios duplication
- Unified error handling
- Consistent retry behavior
- Better testability
PHASE 3: Factory Pattern π
Duration: 12 hours
Impact: +1,176 LOC added
Implemented Patterns:
1. FactoryRegistry
Central dependency injection container:
- Singleton management
- Factory registration
- Lifecycle control
- Test isolation support
2. HttpClientFactory
- Creates configured HttpClient instances
- Manages singleton instances
- Injects logger dependencies
- Test-friendly reset mechanism
3. LoggerFactory
- Creates logger instances with context
- Dependency injection support
- Configuration management
- Child logger creation
Service Refactoring:
- Refactored services to accept dependencies via constructor
- Eliminated direct instantiation ("new Service()")
- Improved testability with mock injection
- Zero violations of Factory Pattern
Testing:
- 9/9 integration tests passing
- Factory lifecycle tests
- Dependency injection tests
- Singleton behavior tests
PHASE 4: Logger Enhancement π
Duration: 2 hours
Impact: +43 LOC enhanced
Security Features:
Sensitive Data Masking
Automatically masks sensitive information in logs:
- API Keys: X-API-KEY headers, apiKey fields
- Tokens: Bearer tokens, JWT tokens
- Passwords: password fields, credentials
- Custom Patterns: Configurable regex patterns
Example:
// Before
logger.info('Request', { headers: { 'X-API-KEY': 'secret123' } });
// Logged: X-API-KEY: secret123
// After
logger.info('Request', { headers: { 'X-API-KEY': 'secret123' } });
// Logged: X-API-KEY: ***MASKED***Benefits:
- Security by default
- No accidental credential leaks
- GDPR/compliance friendly
- Configurable masking patterns
