Here are all the installation steps in order to install Bliinx to your Outlook users.

1. Pre-installation

In order to install Bliinx, you need to ensure that those requirements are met first and foremost:

  • An Outlook 365 Business Premium subscription is required;
  • Users that want the extension needs to be on the 365 Business Premium Subscription;
  • Someone with Outlook administrator permissions needs to be available to install Bliinx;
  • Someone with Azure administrator permissions is highly suggested if you experience problems with permissions.

2. Installation in your environment

In order to install Bliinx on your environment, you need will need a user with Outlook administrator permissions to do the following steps. If you can go to this Office website, then you can skip step 1 to 5.

  1. Go to the Office website;
  2. Click on the Admin button located at the end of the application list;
  3. On the left side of the page, in the menu, click on Settings. If the option is not available, click on Show All and it should appear;
  4. In the new options listed, click on Add-ins;
  5. Click on Deploy Add-In that is in the top left portion of the page that appeared;
  6. In the pane that open on the right side, click Next;
  7. Now select the Upload custom apps option;
  8. Select the I have a URL for the manifest file option, then put https://bliinx.azurewebsites.net/manifest.xml as the URL (and keep the https://, even though office has a placeholder for it!);
  9. Finally, select Everyone to enable all users to use Bliinx, and then select Optional to allow the users to install the extension by themselves, as we onboard your users;
  10. You can now click on Deploy.

3. Enable Permissions for Bliinx

After the installation, it will take a maximum of 12 hours to deploy Bliinx to the organization. Once this is done, there are two different options to enable the permissions:

3.1. Enable Bliinx via the administrator login

  1. Install Bliinx by following the Installation of Bliinx by the users in Outlook on your administrator account;
  2. When Bliinx is opened, click on the Sign In button;
  3. Log in to your administrator account in the pop up that just appeared;
  4. Once prompted to give permissions to your organization, enabled it, and continue. Basic permissions should now be enabled for Bliinx in your organization.

3.2. Enable Bliinx via the Azure Portal

  1. Sign in to the Azure Portal with a global administrator, application administrator, or cloud application administrator account, or as the assigned owner of the enterprise app;
  2. Select Azure Active Directory. In the left navigation menu, select Enterprise applications;
  3. Under the list of applications, click on Bliinx;
  4. On the left pane, click Permissions;
  5. On the page that opened, click on Grant admin consent to Bliinx;
  6. On the page that just popped up, log in on your administrator account, and accept the permissions.

4.Installation of Bliinx by the users

There are two possibilities, you can either install Bliinx via the Outlook website or via the Outlook application.

4.1. Install Bliinx via the Outlook website

  1. Go to the Outlook website and login to your business account;
  2. Click on any email and open it;
  3. In the email, right to the Object of the email, there should be a button with three dots (besides the reply, reply all and forward buttons). Click on it;
  4. At the bottom of the list, click on Get Add-ins;
  5. On the new pop up that opened, on the left pane, click on Admin-managed;
  6. Under the Bliinx card, click on Add;
  7. Bliinx should now be on the top pane when an email or event is selected.

4.2. Install Bliinx via the Outlook application

  1. Open the Outlook application with your business account;
  2. On the list of options at the top of the application, there should be Get Add-ins;
  3. On the new pop up that opened, on the left pane, click on Admin-managed;
  4. Under the Bliinx card, click on Add;
  5. Bliinx should now be on the top pane when an email or event is selected.
