@haqqmisra haqqmisra released this 25 Sep 16:10

The version used for three studies: the revised habitable-zone paper
(Haqq-Misra, Wolf & Kopparapu), the ExoColumn cases of the SAMOSA exoMIP, and
the Lazy Modelers stellar-temperature sweep. Adds capabilities only: with
default settings every result is bit-for-bit identical to v1.0.0, including all
published figures and habitable-zone coefficients.

Added

  • o3_profile = 'clima': the analytic ozone profile built into Clima
(atmos CLIMA/SETUP/ozone.f), for like-for-like comparisons with Clima.
  • reference/earth/ozone_sensitivity.py: reruns the present-day Earth case with
the RCEMIP, Clima and no-ozone profiles and compares each stratosphere with
Clima (the ozone test in the revised Section 2.1).
  • OPACITY_TMAX build option (diagnostic): caps the temperature used for every
opacity-table lookup below ExoRT's 500 K table top. Empty by default (no
cap). reference/moist_runaway/ documents the resulting test of the
post-runaway OLR rise and caches its sweeps.
  • sweep_mode (&exocol_sweep): flux tables over surface temperature, solar
zenith angle and surface albedo in a single process, for energy-balance-model
    radiation tables.
  • &exocol_nml::variable_ps_rh: carries sub-saturated water vapour on the
    dry-pressure coordinate when rh_init < 1 (default off).
  • &exocol_nml::max_model_days: stops the RCE loop at a set model time.
  • data/exort_extra/ now also ships the 44 blackbody (2000–7200 K) and BT-Settl
    (3050, 5000–7000 K, 5084 K) spectra used by the Lazy Modelers
stellar-temperature sweep, which are not in the public ExoRT distribution.
The copy instruction is now cp -n, so no ExoRT file is ever replaced.

Documentation

  • msdist is documented correctly: the top-of-atmosphere flux scales as
1/msdist, with msdist the squared distance ratio.
