Describe the feature you'd like

(Due to my poor english level, I corrected my text with IA)

A feature that attempts to predict where a standard page format (A4, Letter, etc.) would end or be cut off in the case of a PDF export or a regular printout.
This could be indicated with a dashed line—like in Excel, for example—or a visible page break:

Describe the benefits this would bring to existing BookStack users

Being able to predict where a page ends would greatly improve the quality of prints and presentations.

I know BookStack’s philosophy isn’t really focused on printing or exporting to other formats, but this feature could be really helpful in a teaching environment.
Let me explain my specific situation:

I teach classes, and my students usually don’t have computers with them. I also prefer not to give them access to my BookStack instance, not even as guests.
So printing neat little booklets is really my only option.

The issue I’m facing right now is that my pages often look bad because of unexpected page breaks.

Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?

For now, if I have a really important document that I know I’ll print multiple times and want to look good, I export it to PDF several times—tweaking the text and images each time—just to make sure nothing gets awkwardly cut off by a page break.

Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?

  • I have searched for existing issues and none cover my fundamental request

How long have you been using BookStack?

Over 5 years

Additional context

This won't make me stop using bookstack, this app is way to useful.
