Connect your NAS or object storage: browse and batch-import EPUB/TXT from WebDAV servers and S3-compatible services.
Keep book files remotely with a configurable local cache, background archiving, and controls to migrate existing books or bring them back to local storage.
AI searches chapters on demand within your reading scope, without a separate indexing step or persistent copies of chapter text.
Added
Save and test multiple WebDAV or S3-compatible connections in Settings, then browse remote files and batch-import EPUB/TXT from the upload dialog.
The instance owner can use a remote connection for book storage and set a local cache limit. New books are saved locally before background archiving; files no longer cached locally are fetched when needed, while covers stay local.
A storage dashboard shows storage usage and transfer progress, with cache clearing, migration of existing books with pause/resume, and restore-to-local controls. Connection and file-availability checks guard storage switches.
Changed
AI retrieval now searches chapters on demand and returns source citations within the selected reading scope and spoiler prevention bounds. Persistent chunk and search indexes are removed, along with the reader's manual index-building and cleanup controls.
Fixed
TXT chapter detection recognises more bracketed headings, Chinese volume/chapter forms, and special sections such as prefaces, finales, and afterwords. Body lines such as 正文完, 第一回合, and 第一部分 no longer create false chapters. Built-in hierarchy presets are updated while user edits are preserved.
Switching accounts restores cached reading settings immediately instead of briefly clearing font preferences. Reading preferences are also cached locally, and font lists are reused for five minutes.
In-app updates retry briefly when Windows temporarily locks newly extracted files during release promotion.
Upgrade notes
Back up the complete DATA_DIR before upgrading. Migrations 0042–0045 run automatically on startup and cannot be undone in place. To downgrade, restore the pre-upgrade data with the matching previous release.
Migrations 0042–0044 add external storage connections, storage tiers, and transfer tasks. When using remote storage, back up remote book files separately: a DATA_DIR backup alone does not include files stored only remotely.
Migration 0045 removes the old AI chunk and search indexes. SQLite can reuse the freed space, but the database file may not shrink automatically. An optional offline VACUUM; after a successful upgrade can reclaim that space.
