번역이 헛돌지 않게 멈추고, 장 요약이 뒷부분을 빠뜨리지 않게 하는 판올림입니다.

버그 수정

• AI 사용량 한도에 걸려도 번역이 몇 시간씩 헛돌던 것. Codex CLI가 «usage limit»을 돌려주면 다음 단락도 똑같이 실패하는데, 앱은 이를 치명적으로 보지 않고 단락마다 다시 물었습니다. 실제로 단락 245개를 연달아 실패하며 3시간을 쓴 일이 있었습니다. 이제 한도·크레딧 오류(402/429, quota, 크레딧 문구)는 그 자리에서 멈추고, 이유를 몰라도 연속 5단락이 실패하면 문서를 포기하고 사람을 부릅니다.
• «현재 항목 후 중단»이 항목 경계에서만 듣던 것. 챕터 하나가 수백 단락이면 눌러도 몇 시간 뒤에나 멈췄습니다. 이제 단락 사이사이에서 듣고, 멈춘 경우 번역본을 완성된 것처럼 확정하지 않고 진행분만 남깁니다 — 다시 시작하면 성공한 문단은 재사용합니다.
• 멈춘 이유가 «설정을 확인하세요»로만 나오던 것. 사용량 한도로 멈춘 사람이 설정만 뒤지게 됐습니다. 이제 실제 오류 문구를 그대로 보여줍니다.
• URL이 긴 인용문을 «번역 안 됨»으로 오판하던 것. 주소는 그대로 두는 것이 맞는데, 그 때문에 원문과 비슷해 보여 번역이 안 된 것으로 판정됐습니다. 이제 주소를 뺀 본문만 비교합니다. 학술지 서지(저널명·호·쪽수·URL)만 있는 단락은 번역 대상에서 제외합니다.
• 장 요약이 뒷부분을 한 항목에 몰아넣던 것. 『풍성한 삶의 기초』 3장에서 원문의 절반(성경 절, «다섯 손가락» 포함)이 요약 11항목 중 2항목으로 뭉개졌습니다. 앞부분에 소제목을 다 쓰고 남은 절반을 마지막 항목에 밀어 넣은 것입니다. 이제 원문의 절 구조와 각 절의 분량 비율을 따라 소제목을 장 끝까지 고르게 배분하도록 요약 지시를 고쳤습니다. 이미 만든 요약은 그대로이므로 필요하면 해당 장을 다시 요약하세요.
• 설치가 끝나도 앱이 뜨지 않던 것. macOS에서는 설치 관리자와 추가 설정 창이 끝난 뒤 «Launchpad에서 실행하세요»로 끝나 직접 찾아 열어야 했습니다. 이제 설치가 끝나면 앱을 바로 엽니다. 한 줄 설치 스크립트(install-mybookshelf.sh/.ps1)도 기본으로 앱을 열며, 열지 않으려면 --no-launch / -NoLaunch를 붙이면 됩니다.

Translation now stops instead of spinning, and chapter summaries no longer squeeze the second half of a chapter into one item.

Bug fixes

• Translation kept going for hours after hitting the AI usage limit. When Codex CLI returned "usage limit", every following paragraph failed the same way, but the app did not treat it as fatal and kept asking paragraph by paragraph — once burning 3 hours on 245 consecutive failures. Usage/credit errors (402/429, quota, credit wording) now stop on the spot, and five consecutive failures give up the document and call for a person even when the cause is unknown.
• "Stop after current item" was only heard at item boundaries. With a chapter of several hundred paragraphs, pressing it took effect hours later. It is now checked between paragraphs; a stopped run is saved as partial rather than finalised, and a restart reuses the paragraphs that succeeded.
• The halt message only said "check your settings." Someone stopped by a usage limit was sent digging through settings. The actual error text is now shown.
• Citations with long URLs were misjudged as untranslated. Keeping the address verbatim made the output look too similar to the source. Comparison now excludes URLs. Paragraphs that are only a journal locator (journal, issue, pages, URL) are skipped.
• Chapter summaries crammed the back half of a chapter into one item. In one chapter, half the source text (five sub-sections) ended up as 2 of 11 summary items — the model spent its sub-headings on the first half and dumped the rest into the last one. The summary instructions now require sub-headings to follow the source's section structure and be distributed in proportion to each section's length, through to the end of the chapter. Existing summaries are unchanged; re-summarise a chapter if needed.
• The app did not open after installation. On macOS the installer and the extra-setup window ended with "launch it from Launchpad", leaving you to find and open it yourself. The app now opens as soon as installation finishes. The one-line install scripts (install-mybookshelf.sh / .ps1) also launch it by default; pass --no-launch / -NoLaunch to skip.

• AI 판독을 «이어하기» 할 때 앱이 스스로 꺼질 수 있던 것. 이전 작업이 아직 도는지 확인하려고 프로세스 번호를 물어보는데, 윈도우에서는 그 물음이 물음이 아니라 중단 신호로 나갔습니다. 명령 창에서 띄운 경우(start.bat) 확인하는 순간 앱이 함께 꺼질 수 있었습니다. 아이콘으로 띄운 경우에는 신호가 전달되지 않아 증상이 없었습니다. 이제 신호를 보내지 않고 살아 있는지만 확인합니다.
• 외부 도구의 출력을 읽다 한글 윈도우에서 멈추던 자리 넷. PDF 정보 읽기(pdfinfo), 텍스트 추출 진단(pdftotext), 프로세스 목록, 맥 미리보기 열기 — 넷 다 글자 방식을 밝히지 않아 한국어 윈도우에서 실패할 수 있었습니다. 실제로 본문이 깨진 사례는 확인되지 않았습니다.

개발 기반

• 윈도우에서 테스트를 자동으로 돌립니다. 여태 맥에서만 통과하고 한글 윈도우에서 깨지는 문제가 세 번 연달아 배포까지 흘러갔습니다. 이제 코드가 올라갈 때마다 윈도우에서 348개 테스트가 돌고, 글자 방식을 밝히지 않은 코드가 있으면 배포 전에 멈춥니다.

A Windows stability release. No visible feature changes.

Bug fixes

• Resuming AI page reading could shut the app down. To check whether an earlier run was still alive, the app asked about a process id — but on Windows that question is not a question, it is an interrupt signal. When the app had been started from a command window (start.bat), asking could take the app down with it. Launching from the icon was unaffected, since the signal had nowhere to go. The check no longer sends anything.
• Four places that read an external tool's output could fail on a Korean-locale Windows. PDF metadata (pdfinfo), text-extraction diagnostics (pdftotext), the process list, and opening macOS Preview all decoded output using the system locale instead of a stated one. No corrupted book text was observed from this.

Engineering

• Tests now run on Windows automatically. Three releases in a row shipped a defect that passed on macOS and broke on Korean Windows. Every push now runs the 348-test suite on Windows and stops the build if any code reads or writes text without stating its encoding.

번역에서 본문이 조용히 빠지던 자리들을 찾아 고쳤습니다. 라이브러리 실측으로 문단 331개가 번역 대상으로 돌아왔습니다.

버그 수정

• 절 번호를 각주 번호로 오인해 절 첫 문단을 통째로 건너뛰던 것. 3.4.2 Artificial Persons … 의 3. 을 각주 번호로 읽었습니다. 실측(군켈 『Person, Thing, Robot』)에서 절 제목 42개가 영문 그대로 남았고, 제목에 본문이 붙어 있던 16문단은 본문까지 빠졌습니다(최대 469자). 각주 번호는 홑 정수지만 절 번호는 숫자 사이에 점이 있다는 모양으로 가릅니다. 차례 줄은 예전처럼 건너뜁니다.
• 쉼표가 든 영어 문장이 서지 표기로 잡혀 빠지던 것. 서지 판정이 대소문자를 무시하는 바람에 however, i example, i 같은 평범한 문장이 저자, I. 형태로 보였습니다. 실제 서지 표기(Kant, I. / Kant, Immanuel)는 그대로 걸러집니다.
• 긴 본문이 각주로 오인돼 빠지던 것. 각주로 인정하는 길이가 500자여서 300자 넘는 본문 229문단이 통째로 빠졌습니다. 진짜 각주는 짧습니다(실측 중앙값 51자). 상한을 250자로 낮췄습니다.
• 번역 실패 시 원문 보존과 문장 단위 처리를 보완했습니다. 문장 중간에서 잘리던 분할을 다듬고, 성공한 번역 캐시를 내용·문맥 기준으로 유지해 다시 돌릴 때 재사용합니다.

세 가지를 합쳐 건너뛰는 문단이 전체의 32.7% → 31.1%로 줄었고, 문단 331개가 되살아났습니다(본문 20,594문단 기준).

개선

• 건너뛴 이유를 기록합니다. 원문이 그대로 남은 문단이 «규칙대로 건너뛴 것»인지 «잘못 걸린 것»인지 나중에 가릴 수 있습니다.
• 굳히기 전 점검에 하나 추가. 건너뛸 문단 중 300자가 넘는 것이 있으면 알립니다. 실패가 아니라 규칙대로 건너뛴 것이라 기존 검사에 안 걸려 조용히 본문이 사라지던 자리입니다.
• PDF 구조 정보를 저장해 재처리 때 다시 읽지 않습니다.

라이선스

• 설치 폴더에 THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES.md 와 LICENSE 가 함께 설치됩니다. 번들된 Poppler(GPL v2 이상)의 대응 소스 안내와 3년 서면 제안이 프로그램 옆에 놓입니다. 선언한 Poppler 버전도 실제 배포본과 일치하도록 바로잡았습니다.

• 미주 분리와 EPUB 각주 연결 문제는 이번 판에서 해결되지 않았습니다.

Fixes for places where body text was silently dropped from translation. Field measurement returned 331 paragraphs to the translator.

Bug fixes

• Section numbers were read as footnote numbers, so the first paragraph of a section was skipped whole. In one measured book, 42 section titles stayed in English and 16 paragraphs lost their body text as well (up to 469 characters). Footnote numbers are bare integers; section numbers carry dots between digits, and we now split on that shape. Table-of-contents lines are still skipped as before.
• English sentences containing a comma were mistaken for bibliography entries. The check ignored case, so ordinary text like however, i looked like Author, I.. Real bibliography entries are still filtered.
• Long body paragraphs were mistaken for footnotes. The footnote length limit was 500 characters, which swallowed 229 body paragraphs over 300 characters. Real footnotes are short (measured median: 51). The limit is now 250.
• Better source preservation and sentence-level handling when a translation fails, including mid-sentence splits and a content- and context-based cache of successful translations.

Together these cut skipped paragraphs from 32.7% to 31.1% and restored 331 paragraphs (of 20,594 measured).

Improvements

• Skip reasons are recorded, so an untranslated paragraph can later be told apart as "skipped by rule" or "caught by mistake".
• One more pre-build audit: warns when a paragraph over 300 characters is about to be skipped.
• PDF structure is stored so reprocessing does not re-read it.

Licensing

• THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES.md and LICENSE are now installed into the application folder, placing the corresponding-source directions and the three-year written offer for the bundled Poppler (GPL v2 or later) next to the program itself. The declared Poppler version now matches what actually ships.

Known issues

• Endnote separation and EPUB footnote linking are not fixed in this release.
