Capnode edited this page Dec 11, 2022 · 4 revisions

This guide will show how to download and view market data. In this example data is downloaded from the data provider Dukascopy. The steps are similar for other data providers, but the interpretation of the form fields can be different.

  1. On the Markets tab, press the "Add market" button and select the new item "Market".

  2. Switch to the Settings tab (within the Markets tab) and fill in the form as show below. The "Timeframe" indicates the requested data unit period. The amount of download data is dependent on the selected data provider. Selecting "Tick" in this case will download all timeframes for the selected symbol, but will also take much more time and memory.

  3. On the Markets tab, tick the checkbox in front of "Dukascopy (0)".
  4. A message "Market Dukascopy has no symbol selected" is shown in the status bar. Switch to Instruments tab (within the Markets tab) and find all available symbols.

  5. On the Instruments tab (within the Markets tab), tick the checkbox in front of symbol "EURUSD".
  6. On the Markets tab, tick the checkbox in front of "Dukascopy (0)" again.

  7. Data is now downloading and it will take some time to complete with given settings. You can see the progress in the settings tab.
  8. Download is finished when the message "Market Dukascopy completed" appears in the status bar.

  9. On the Instruments tab (within the Makets tab), select line "EURUSD" and press button "Add to new symbol list".
  10. On the Markets tab, expand all sublevels of "Dukascopy"

  11. On the Markets tab, in the list named "New list", select "EURUSD".
  12. Switch to the Chart tab (within the Markets tab) and select "Daily" in the dropdown list to find the chart.
