Doom SMK 24 — illuminated pad controls
SMK Doom 24 adds illuminated drum-pad controls: cyan movement, amber strafe, green Use, red Fire. Only a held pad goes dark. Fader 2 adjusts brightness with noise rejection. Startup clears inherited LED/DMA state; LED reset gaps are carried inside the DMA frame. USB labels identify Doom correctly. The existing animated hero keeps its device rotation, camera zooms, shell finishes and screens, with the eight mapped SMK pads illuminated. FM-1 stays on release 16.
Validation: owner confirmed controls, steady colors, brightness and sound on SMK Pro. A separate 3-minute gameplay monitor recorded 6,347 pad samples with no LED/audio errors. Host sanitizer, renderer, 70,000-frame campaign (72 level completions), installer and helper checks passed. The exact public Pro packet matches the installed packet. Normal USB restore completed and verified SMK-37 Pro_016; device left on original firmware. The original-firmware installer remains available.
Elite is compiled and exact-package simulated, not hardware-tested. A physical Chrome cable-disconnect test was not repeated. The earlier sprite-frame stop was not reproduced; no specific renderer fix is claimed. See docs/SMK_DRUM_CONTROLS.md.
Firmware binary assets are application-only; install through the website. Source archive includes pinned DoomGeneric and printf submodules. Existing build tools fetch and prepare checksum-pinned artwork and toolchain dependencies.
Doom FM-1 26 - GameDude controls and faster input scanning
FM-1 Doom 26 follows GameDude controls: left direction cluster, middle Menu/Select, and Use/Fire on the final two white keys. Assigned key lights go dark while held. The existing animated hero and simulator show the same mapping, with action tooltips. FM-1 physical LEDs remain on/off; illustration colors identify actions.
Input now scans incrementally at 10 kHz instead of blocking gameplay for a full matrix scan. USB remains at 2 kHz and dual-core audio is retained. The owner confirmed controls, lights and sound, then reported responsiveness was "way better" after build 26. A 60-second idle monitor recorded both audio cores active, no audio faults, no LCD timeouts and no stop message. This is not a numerical gameplay benchmark or a speed-parity claim.
Validation: native mapping and shared timer tests, simulator mapping/engine checks, boot identity checks, release hashes and official restore-flow tests passed. All three public packages pass protected-byte and corruption checks. The public FM-1 package matches the installed package byte for byte. The original-firmware installer remains available; a physical cold start and stock round trip were not repeated for this build. SMK stays on the previously tested release 24, with unchanged binaries.
Application-only firmware asset: install through the website. Source archive includes pinned DoomGeneric and printf submodules; existing build tools fetch checksum-pinned artwork/toolchain dependencies. Detailed evidence: docs/FM1_GAMEDUDE_CONTROLS.md.
smk-flash-compat-17
The SMK updater rejected EB6014 chips before accepting firmware. This release accepts exactly 856014 and EB6014 and reports checksummed loader failures through browser/native installation and original-firmware restore. Sloop/Melodee storage probes share the same ID policy where present. Existing calibration policy, flash commands, writable ranges and protected-byte checks remain unchanged. FM-1 firmware artifacts are unchanged.
Validation: this exact application installed on the owner-provided SMK Pro, restarted as Doom-SMK-37_017, then restored original Pro 016 with successful transfer/readback completion and exact restart identity. Host updater suites with sanitizers, native/browser diagnostic tests, package tests for both Pro and Elite, and relevant site/helper checks passed. EB6014 and Elite hardware confirmation, UI/sound and long-duration checks remain pending.
