VS Code extension 0.1.5

@Chang-LeHung Chang-LeHung released this 20 Oct 15:52

Mermaid diagrams and a lightbox for pictures, diagrams, tables and code; the message rail groups ten messages to a bar when they would touch; the usage page says it is for this workspace only; pictures show again after a reload; a failed edit says why; errors are toasts at the top, not over the message box; the paperclip attaches any file by its path; chips wrap instead of overlapping; selection no longer hides the draft.

Needs zettcode-server>=0.1.1 (installed automatically), for the pictures in a reloaded session.

ZettCode for VS Code 0.1.4

ZettCode for VS Code 0.1.4

The extension now installs the server it runs, so a new machine needs nothing installed first.

What happens on first use

  • The chat starts, finds no zettcode-server, and installs one into an environment of its own
(globalStorage/server/venv) — with uv when it is on your PATH, otherwise with your python3. The server and
the agent it drives live in that one environment, apart from your project.
  • A server you already have is used first and never replaced: zettcode.server.command, the workspace's .venv, the
    PATH, or ~/.local/share/uv/tools.
  • zettcode.server.autoInstall (default true) turns the install off. A machine with neither uv nor Python is told
how to install the server by hand.
  • Every command and its output goes to the ZettCode output channel.

New server release

zettcode-server 0.1.0 is on PyPI: https://pypi.org/project/zettcode-server/ — which is what the install fetches
(pip install zettcode-server brings zettcode>=0.1.8 with it). Future server releases use their own tag,
zettcode-server-v*, and their own workflow.

Everything from 0.1.1 to 0.1.3 is here too: the extension page's picture, the author in the manifest, the class-name
fixes (a folded thought no longer sits beside its own label; the rail's ticks no longer flatten the check marks), and
the status line's clock saying 1m 19s.
