A reliability update for Capri, the cyberpunk AI agent for your Windows desktop.
This update makes working with files and long tasks more reliable, lowers memory usage and adds a few quality-of-life tweaks.
🛠️ Fixes
- Fixed Capri crashing on launch when its settings file was damaged. It now restores the default settings instead.
- Fixed errors when working with files and folders that have non-English characters or very long paths in their names.
- Fixed the selected AI engine resetting to the default one after restarting Capri.
- Fixed duplicate notifications when a task finished.
✨ Improvements
- Lower memory usage during long sessions.
- Approval prompts now show the full path of the file or folder Capri is about to change.
- Faster response when switching between AI engines.
🆕 New
- Added a Copy button to every response and error message.
⚠️ Notes
- Your settings and engine connections are kept when you update. If Capri asks you to sign in again, just reconnect your AI assistant once.

This update fixes several issues with the installer and AI engine connections, makes Capri start faster and polishes the interface.

- Fixed Capri losing the connection to the selected AI engine after the computer woke up from sleep.
- Fixed the portable build not remembering its settings after being moved to another folder.
- Fixed the task window freezing while a long response was being generated.
- Fixed the installer not creating a Start menu shortcut on some systems.

- Faster startup: Capri now opens more quickly after a system restart.
- Clearer error messages when an API key is missing, expired or invalid.
- Interface polish: sharper neon accents and smoother window transitions in the cyberpunk theme.

🚀 Getting Started
- Download the installer or the portable build from the assets below.
- Launch Capri. For the installer, open it from the Start menu. For the portable build, run it from any folder.
- Connect your AI. Sign in to your assistant account or paste your API key.
- Jack in. Type what you need and let Capri work.
Windows shows a SmartScreen warning?
New apps that are not yet widely downloaded can trigger a SmartScreen prompt. If you downloaded Capri from this repository's releases page, click More info → Run anyway.
⚠️ Known Limitations
- Windows only. macOS and Linux versions are planned but not available yet.
- Bring your own AI. Capri works with your own assistant account or API key, so usage costs are billed by the AI provider.
- Review before you approve. Capri can change files on your computer. Read what it is about to do, limit its folder access and keep backups of important data.
