VTOP Command 1.1.0

Choose a tag to compare

@ChirayuSahu ChirayuSahu released this 01 Nov 22:44
2941b39

First tagged release of VTOP Command: a ⌘K / Ctrl+K command menu, dark mode and page helpers for VIT's VTOP.

Install

  1. Download vtop-command-1.1.0.zip below and unzip it.
  2. Open chrome://extensions (or brave://extensions) and turn on Developer mode.
  3. Choose Load unpacked and select the unzipped vtop-command folder.
  4. Open VTOP and sign in as usual. Press ⌘K (macOS) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux).

Highlights

  • Command menu: jump to any VTOP page by name or alias, open Home, toggle dark mode, choose a default semester, and open the CGPA calculator.
  • Dark mode: covers VTOP's legacy pages, fixes low-contrast text, and highlights your registered Time Table slots.
  • Default semester: selected automatically on pages that ask for one. On Course Page, the course list can be filtered to it.
  • Attendance calculator: classes needed to reach 75%, or how many you can still miss.
  • Pending assignments: a Pending column on Digital Assignment Upload, with urgency colours and countdowns. Results are cached for a random 1–5 hours, and a course's cache is cleared when you upload.
  • Marks: a highlighted Total row on each course, with marks already lost shown in the Remark cell.
  • CGPA calculator: past semester GPAs plus a projected GPA and CGPA from your expected grades.
  • Form presets: save your usual answers for forms like Late Hour Request and Leave Request. They auto-fill, but you still submit yourself. Fields can be reset one at a time.
  • Searchable dropdowns in the extension's windows and on the Late Hour and Leave Request forms.
  • PDF viewer: VTOP's PDFs open in a built-in viewer with zoom, plus Download whenever you want the file.

Fixes in this release

  • Dark mode: no more flickering buttons, no bright borders on Marks' inner tables, and no white gap on the Academic Calendar.
  • Presets: a saved Late Hour venue no longer resets when the editor reopens.
  • PDF viewer: PDF.js recovery warnings no longer fill the extension's error page.

Safety

The extension only sends VTOP's own requests, never submits forms, never touches login or CAPTCHA, and talks to no other server. See the README for every request it makes and what it stores.
