OK, except there's no guaranteed Brain at the bottom. Will look and see whether that's feasible to add.

It probably is but isn't coming to me tonight. Sorry, Rivet.

If they kill enough goo monsters either one will spawn at random, or else they'll eventually deplete the slime pit's population. I think.

True, brains are 1/1,000, so they'll eventually run into one.
Also, since nothing keeps multiple queens from spawning (except fungal
spires of course), we might want to keep track of killed queens per group,
and accelerate die-off even more when multiple queens are killed.

Emphasis on "eventually". With the armor nerf, I'd be willing to bet that most chars would get killed before encountering (much less killing) a brain blob.

Triffid hearts are also a one-per-map sort of thing.

Whoops, keep forgetting the queen isn't a queen :P

May as well merge this, get it into large-scale playtesting and see if people actually get anywhere. (I'd be happy to be wrong in my prediction there.) Any objections?

No objection, I've been meaning to look into adding it as a guaranteed
spawn, but haven't had time yet.

I looked into it briefly: I suppose the drunk-walk used for the Triffid Heart is as good a x/y placement method as any, but the problem I had was the lack of any way to tell when I'd hit the bottom level of a given slime pit.
