Repository navigation
riabuild 2026.09.05
Two things your machine now does differently
Both take effect on the next riabuild run. Neither needs anything typed.
Usage collection is automatic, and riabuild claude track / untrack are gone.
Every Claude account riabuild manages now reports usage — including a personal
subscription added through riabuild claude new, which previously reported only if
you asked it to. What a sample carries is volume, never content: cost, durations,
line counts and rate-limit percentages, and no repository, prompt or path. Only
accounts under <root>/claude/<uuid> are touched, so a developer's own ~/.claude
install still writes nothing.
The status line moved out of JavaScript. It was
node ~/.riabuild/claude-statusline.js; it is now ~/.riabuild/claude-statusline, one
exec into riabuild internal statusline. An upgraded machine repairs itself on its
next riabuild run — the task rewrites the file, removes the old .js, and
org_settings::check rewrites a cached settings file that still names the JavaScript.
Until that run, the settings on a laptop point at a file that no longer exists,
which renders as no status line rather than as an error. That is expected; it is not
worth debugging, and one riabuild fixes it.
Also in this release
Always use <owner>/<repo>? The repository picker asks it after you choose, and a
machine that answers yes stops being asked: the next run draws no box at all. The one
thing that undoes it is GitHub answering 404 for that repository — an expired
token, a 403, a 500 or a first run with no gh yet all leave the pin alone and say
why. riabuild --repo on its own puts the question back; riabuild --repo <owner/repo>
switches and re-pins.
Both pickers say what they are offering. A repository now shows its GitHub
description under its name, and one of the team's servers shows a description a lead
types in the dashboard — which is what turns a list of hostnames into a list somebody
new to the team can choose from.
