Open Type the Change from the >_ icon at the top right of your code editor, or Cmd/Ctrl+Alt+T. Choose Try demo—no account needed.

Predict one result, edit normally, run a check with Cmd/Ctrl+Alt+Enter, then keep or reject with one reason. The demo deliberately proposes a wrong change: matching its text never accepts it. Checks run beside your code without opening the terminal.

This preview adds a visible walkthrough link, concise extension-page instructions, English/Korean main controls, and an English video recorded in real VS Code. Keyboard focus waits for the target view before taking input.

Choose an existing VS Code task once. The picker describes disabling task-wide automatic saving in the workspace (or user settings if no folder is open), so only reviewed files are saved. File discovery uses bounded filename searches and preserves selections across queries.

Scope: eight generation files, 64 KiB each, and 20 plan steps. No whole-repository impact analysis or automatic test selection. Filename discovery is exercised in a generated 5,000-file / 1,000,000-line repository. Real-account ChatGPT consent/inference and learning gains remain unverified.

Type the Change 0.3.0 — Predict, check, decide

Type the Change now makes an AI-proposed edit a deliberate human decision: predict → compare → record evidence → keep / reject / defer. Exact text matching no longer approves a change, and a different implementation can be kept within the guided range.

Watch the attached Korean-captioned, real VS Code walkthrough. The intentionally wrong local example produces 10 instead of 30; the author rejects it and verifies a different change. No live AI account or paid call is used in the tutorial.

Install type-the-change-0.3.0.vsix with Extensions: Install from VSIX…, or install from the verified public VS Code Marketplace listing. Run Type the Change: Try the Demo to start without signing in. VS Code 1.100+ is required; the interface currently uses Korean.

Validation includes 168 local tests, 162 headless layouts, ten real VS Code UI flow groups, native-host checks on 1.142.0 and 1.100.0, and Windows concurrency checks. The final CI result is linked below. The bundle includes the minimal prompt/cursor logo and immutable links to the video and documentation.

Human notes are not an automatic correctness grade. The extension does not apply, save, undo, or test code on your behalf. Live ChatGPT consent and subscription-backed generation, real operating-system IME behavior, and learning gains remain unverified.

Community contributions are through issues; external PRs are not accepted. Source PR #1 remains open for the owner's review and has not been merged.

Type the Change 0.2.0 — A simpler standalone flow

VS Code 안에서 요청 → 직접 입력 → 변경 확인까지 이어지는 흐름을 줄였습니다. Codex 데스크톱이나 CLI는 필요하지 않습니다.

• 요청 입력을 패널 안으로 통합하고, 모델 선택을 기억합니다.

• 삭제할 코드 안내, 수정 위치 선택 복원, 완료 뒤 포커스를 고쳤습니다.
• 입력 완료 후 원본과 현재 코드를 바로 비교할 수 있습니다.
• 로그인·모델 선택·생성의 취소와 오류를 정리했습니다.
• 여러 작업 폴더의 MCP 알림, 파일 읽기 정지, 이전 비교 화면 재사용 문제를 고쳤습니다.

검증: 91개 자동 테스트 통과. Linux 실제 VS Code에서 한 글자씩 입력, 자동 괄호와 들여쓰기, CRLF, 같은 파일의 연속 수정, 삭제, 패널 재열기, 변경 전후 비교를 통과했습니다. 전체 CI 결과

모든 실제 화면 클릭·시각 검수가 끝났다는 뜻은 아닙니다. 로컬 Mac 잠금과 Work의 브라우저 사용 비활성화 때문에 실제 화면의 픽셀 검수는 수행하지 못했습니다. 실계정 ChatGPT 동의·구독 추론도 아직 검증 전입니다. 웹뷰 DOM 이벤트와 모의 OAuth 테스트는 이 검증들과 구분했습니다.

검증: 46개 자동 테스트, 실제 VS Code 편집기 통합 테스트, 타입 검사, VSIX 패키징 통과. 소스 자동 변경·저장 없음, 범위 밖 변경, 이전 파일 변경, 완료 후 되돌리기, 취소 중 단계 전환을 확인했습니다.

초기 미리보기입니다. 실제 계정 동의 및 ChatGPT 구독을 통한 모델 요청은 아직 실계정 검증 전입니다. 이용 가능 여부와 한도는 연결한 계정에 따릅니다. 현재 로컬 VS Code와 기존 텍스트 파일만 지원합니다.
