Not Clear How To Use Prop markAsRead

It's not clear how to use the prop "markAsRead". I've tried a few variations
but nothing shows up on the card and the number of notifications active is never cleared.
Is there an example somewhere?

This prop is removed in the latest version. The notifications count will be shown based on the number of notifications not viewed.
