Agent Server v0.9.0
This release adds new streaming events that let host agents publish plan updates and context compaction markers. It is a customer-facing API and protocol update, but it does not require a migration or special upgrade steps beyond deploying the new version.
Highlights
- Host agents publish plan updates and context compaction markers
The server now exposes agent.plan and agent.compaction events, along with stream.plan and stream.compaction frames. Clients and host agents can use these signals to follow plan progress and context compaction during streaming.

Agent Server v0.8.0
This release updates streamed chat responses so generated titles can arrive as a separate event after the answer finishes. API clients that consume streaming responses should update their event handling for the new frame order, but no database migration is required.
Breaking changes
- Streaming response event order changes when title frames are enabled
Update your streaming client to handle the stream.title event separately and do not assume stream.done is the last frame carrying generated content.
Highlights
- Streamed chats can emit the generated title as a separate event
Streaming clients can now receive a dedicated stream.title event after the answer completes. The stream.done event may arrive earlier when title frames are enabled, so consumers should handle the title as a separate part of the stream.
Upgrade notes
No database migration runs in this release. Before rolling out the new image, update any streaming API client or integration to accept the new stream.title event and to handle stream.done arriving before that title frame.

Agent Server v0.6.0
This release adds live reasoning streaming and a request-level control for reasoning effort in Agent Server. It is a customer-facing API update with no migration required, so most upgrades are a straightforward image swap unless you want to adopt the new fields and events.
Highlights
- Stream agent reasoning live (#8)
Hosts can now emit a live stream.thinking event, and clients can consume reasoning updates as work progresses. The API also exposes AgentInfo.showReasoning so clients can tell whether reasoning is available. - Set reasoning effort per request (#8)
Clients can now send a validated reasoningEffort field to request the desired reasoning effort level for a call.

Agent Server v0.4.0
This release lets API clients choose a model for each message request. It also adds validation for unsupported model keys and may require client updates if you want to use the new request field or handle the new error response.
Breaking changes
- Message requests can now be rejected with model_not_allowed for invalid model keys
Update clients to send only advertised model keys and handle the model_not_allowed response.
Highlights
- Clients can choose a model for each message
The server now accepts a model on message requests and advertises available model choices in agent information. Clients that send an unsupported model key receive a model_not_allowed response.
Full changelog: v0.3.0...main
Agent Server v0.3.0
