If the interpreter is triggered without displaying the help, not in REPL mode, and not executing a file, then the usage information will be displayed.

It’s helpful to display the usage information for a program if no arguments are supplied to it, or if the arguments are supplied incorrectly (e.g. passing a filename without
-f). This displays the usage if no action (executing a file or starting the REPL) is taken.
