Unable to Configure Cursor

Hello! I'm very excited to try Unity-MCP, thank you so much for creating it. Unfortunately I'm unable to get it running correctly.

I followed all instructions, and the server is starting correctly, but the MCP Client Configuration section is giving me the error "Missing UnityMCP Config". When I try to configure it (either auto or manual) I get the message "UV Package Manger not found". However I definitely did install it; in my terminal window when I run uv --version, I clearly see that I've got uv 0.8.9 installed. Looking at Cursor, in settings -> Tools & Integrations, Unity-MCP says "No tools or prompts".

I'm using Macbook Pro 2024, Apple M4, Sequoia.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Hi, just wanted to confirm you pressed the Auto-Setup button in the Unity MCP editor window?

Also, can you use Cursor to help you figure out what directory your UV is in, and let me know? That will give us a clue of how to help fix it.

Yes, in the Unity MCP editor window.

Additional context: I placed a breakpoint in UnityMcpEditorWindow.FindUvPath() and stepped through to try and figure out what was going on.

I don't know if this helps, but for some reason trying to use the "which" process is not working. When I use "which" in the console I see the UV location clearly (/Users/(MYNAME)/.local/bin/uv), but running the process (line 1617) is returning an empty string for StandardOutput.ReadToEnd().

I fixed the issue by manually adding the UV location to the script and then pressing "configure" again. Not sure why it couldn't be found via the script, though.

Thank you that's a good clue. In the meantime, you now know where your UV is located, so you should be able to get cursor to help you configure its MCP config file to point to that directory, so it can call uv on our package's embedded python server.

@JoeFranciaSeries Try to refresh the Unity MCP package via Unity Package Manager, like below. I put in some fixes that should help with this issue. Let me know if it works better. Thanks.

@JoeFranciaSeries Can I get you to give it one more try? We've done a lot of work to stabilize installation over the past week, and would love to know if this resolves your issue.

Should work now. Will track any corner cases
