nudl now cleans every link in what you copy, runs on every OS, and has a web page you can try without installing anything.
New
- Every link in what you copied. Press the hotkey on a whole message or paragraph and every link in it is cleaned — the rest of the text comes back exactly as it was. Formatted copies (from a browser, Word, Outlook) keep their formatting, and the links hiding behind link text are cleaned too. Undo restores all of it.
- The command line,
nudl— Windows, macOS and Linux.nudl --clipboardcleans the clipboard in place: bind it to a key and you have nudl's hotkey on any OS. Also on PyPI:pipx install nudl. - Try it in your browser — runs nudl's own cleaning code in the page; nothing you paste leaves it. On Android, install it and share links to it.
- The tray app is now
nudlw. Double-clickingnudl.exestill opens it, so existing shortcuts keep working. - Settings — a real window: mode, shortcut, start with Windows, referral codes, sites to never touch, apps to ignore.
- Start with Windows — asked once on first launch, visible in Task Manager's Startup apps.
- Private copies left alone — nudl doesn't read what your password manager copies.
- Your own rules, on top of the bundled ones — add keys and sites, or
keepa key nudl would otherwise strip. New releases' rules still reach you. - The share-button trackers people paste most: YouTube
si, Instagramigsh, Facebookmibextid, LinkedInrcm, TikTok_t/_r. Spotify'ssiis still kept — removing it has broken shared playlists. - A running count in the tray tooltip, kept on your machine, and Report a link nudl got wrong… in the tray.
Fixed / hardened
- Bounded regex and URL sizes in every rule field, so a hand-edited rules file can't freeze nudl.
- Stricter redirect unwrapping (no userinfo, private or loopback targets).
- Far more secret-bearing parameters masked in the audit log.
- System shortcuts (Ctrl+C, Alt+Tab, Win+L…) are refused as nudl's hotkey.
