ReFix v1.4.1 - Low-Latency Photon Voice & Stable Joins over Steam P2P
What's New & Fixed in v1.4.1
A focused update for the Photon Cloud emulator (ReFixCloud): smoother voice chat and more reliable joins.
-
Much Lower Voice & Game Latency:
- The emulator no longer waits up to ~15 ms on every Steam hop. It now wakes up the moment data arrives, which cuts the delay you could hear in Photon Voice chat.
- Direct Steam P2P routes are now enabled. Players on the same LAN or close to each other talk directly instead of bouncing through a distant Valve relay.
- Steam's send-rate cap is raised. The host forwards every player's traffic (voice included), and the old default could queue it up and make the lag grow over time.
-
Joins Survive an Unstable Host:
- Fixes players getting
ClientTimeoutwhen joining a host with a shaky connection. - Steam's relay network is warmed up at start, and the Steam session to the host opens as soon as the room is found, in parallel with Photon's own connect.
- Longer Steam session timeouts, so short drops on the host's connection no longer kick everyone out.
- Fixes players getting
-
Better Diagnostics:
ReFix.lognow shows, for each player, whether the connection isdirectorRELAYED, plus ping, connection quality and send-queue time (Steam sessionlines).
-
New Optional
