Qué hay de nuevo

• Esquiva los menús de la barra. En un monitor sin notch, el notch que dibuja Mate se corre lo justo para no tapar los menús de la app que tenés adelante (y si no entra, esconde el mate de la izquierda; el notch queda siempre). En la pantalla de la MacBook, el mate se esconde cuando los menús llegan hasta él.
• Para leer dónde terminan los menús, Mate pide permiso de Accesibilidad desde una línea del panel, nunca de golpe. No lee nada más. Se apaga en Ajustes → «Esquivar los menús de la barra».

Arreglos

• Al desconectar y volver a conectar un monitor, el notch a veces no volvía a aparecer.
• Los controles de Spotify y Música no respondían en macOS 26.

Mate no longer covers the menus

What's new

• Stays out of the menu bar's menus. On a display without a notch, the notch Mate draws slides just enough to clear the frontmost app's menus (and if it still doesn't fit, it hides the mate on the left; the notch always stays). On the MacBook's screen, the mate hides when the menus reach it.
• To read where the menus end, Mate asks for Accessibility permission from a row in the panel, never out of the blue. It reads nothing else. Turn it off in Settings → "Avoid the menu bar's menus".

Fixes

• After unplugging and reconnecting a monitor, the notch sometimes didn't come back.
• Spotify and Music controls didn't respond on macOS 26.

• Lo que estás escuchando en Spotify o Música: mientras suena, la portada y unas barritas a la izquierda del notch.
• En el panel, arriba: canción, artista y portada, con pausa, anterior, siguiente, aleatorio y una barra que podés arrastrar para adelantar o volver.
• La primera vez macOS te pregunta si Mate puede controlar Spotify (o Música): tocá «Permitir».
• Mate nunca abre Spotify ni Música por su cuenta. Se puede apagar en Ajustes.
• Las portadas de Spotify se bajan de su servidor de imágenes (i.scdn.co), sin cuentas ni cookies.

What's new

• What you're listening to in Spotify or Music: while it plays, the album art and little bars show to the left of the notch.
• At the top of the panel: song, artist and artwork, with play/pause, previous, next, shuffle and a bar you can drag to seek.
• The first time, macOS asks whether Mate may control Spotify (or Music): choose "Allow".
• Mate never opens Spotify or Music on its own. You can turn it off in Settings.
• Spotify artwork comes from its image server (i.scdn.co), with no account or cookies.

Qué hay de nuevo

• Un mate a la izquierda del notch. Cada tanto, mientras tus agentes trabajan, se ceba solo.
• Mantener la Mac despierta mientras trabajan los agentes: clic derecho en el notch o en Ajustes (viene apagado). La Mac no se duerme mientras algún agente esté trabajando, y se suelta un par de minutos después de que paran. La pantalla se puede apagar igual.
• Mate se da cuenta si tenés caffeinate (o Amphetamine, u otra app) manteniendo la Mac despierta: el mate aparece con un puntito verde y el panel te dice quién es.
• Sigue en casi 0 % de CPU en reposo.

El mate animado es el emoji de Noto, de Google.

The mate reaches the notch 🧉

What's new

• A mate gourd to the left of the notch. Every so often, while your agents work, it gets a refill.
• Keep the Mac awake while agents work: right-click the notch or open Settings (off by default). The Mac won't sleep while any agent is working, and lets go a couple of minutes after they stop. The display can still turn off.
• Mate notices when caffeinate (or Amphetamine, or another app) is keeping the Mac awake: the mate shows with a green dot and the panel tells you who it is.
• Still about 0 % CPU at rest.

The animated mate is Google's Noto emoji.

Primera versión pública (beta). Mate muestra junto al notch cuánto te queda de tus agentes de IA.

Qué trae

• Anillo junto al notch con el % de la sesión de 5 h (el semanal aparece cuando pasa el 80 %).
• Panel al pasar el mouse: sesión, semanal, reinicios, ritmo ("Al día", "Se acaba a las…") y la sesión actual.

Instalación

1. Bajá Mate.dmg y arrastrá Mate a Aplicaciones.
2. La primera vez: clic derecho → Abrir (no está notarizada).
3. Cuando macOS pregunte por «security» y el llavero, escribí tu contraseña y tocá «Permitir siempre».

Es una beta: los servicios de uso de cada proveedor no están documentados y pueden cambiar. El cambio de la cuenta activa de Claude Code desde el notch llega en una próxima versión.

Install

1. Download Mate.dmg and drag Mate to Applications.
2. First launch: right-click → Open (it isn't notarized).
3. When macOS asks about "security" and the keychain, type your password and choose "Always Allow".

This is a beta: each provider's usage endpoints are undocumented and may change. Switching the active Claude Code account from the notch comes in a later version.
